When did food porn become the thing to do? I see at least 3 food pics a day on social networks. If I really ate with my eyes, I'd probably be fat.

tried a hot turkey & provolone snadwhich from Costco today. It had all the qualities of being good (margarinated grilled bread, turkey, melty provo, etc), but, on the second bite, I got the strong taste of latex (you gotta wash latex gloves if you're gonna use them for food prep...or leave the condoms for after work), a taste that doesn't just go away
...then, when I was flossing, I extracted a big coarse black nose hair from between my teeth! It's not mine because I have fine blondish/brown hair. I don't feel so good... |

Not enough time to make something nice tonight, so I just made Kraft Dinner, added 3 slices of havarti cheese. On the side, had 8 slices of bread with lots of butter and covered in sugar, ate them while I was cooking. Drinking a litre of fruit punch as well. I've never tracked my caloric intake before, but for this meal it was well over 2'300 calories.

^ Holy crap, you ate 8 pieces of bread?!
Your whole meal was like 400 grams of carbs. Thats more carbs than I eat in a week, lol.

UGH! lux! You keep eating like that and you're gonna have to wax down a sheet of plywood to keep ya afloat on the slopes :)) .
I had a black bean veggie burger at a local pub last night after my workout (and a glass of stout cuz.. ya know, who can say no to stout :D). They brew their own beer, and make the burgers in house, which is pretty cool, and it was pretty darn delicious. They don't put any kind of solidifying agent in the burger though.. so it almost ended up just kinda resembling dark chili on a bun lol. Nevertheless i gobbled it all up.. Probably came pretty close to consuming the amount of cals in my meal as i burned at the gym.. awesome lol |

Haha guys, don't worry these meals aren't really abnormal for me. I don't put on anything that I eat because I have an unusually very, very high metabolic rate... most of the food energy I consume is converted to body heat. So as long as I keep eating throughout the day, I'm less susceptible to feeling cold. The downside is I never stay "full" for more than 30 minutes, no matter how much I eat at once. I don't artificially stimulate my metabolism by working out or anything, unfortunately it's just how I am-- got it from my mother who is also naturally slender. I should still be eating healthy, though... which, for that meal, I was not.

I guess in some ways you're pretty lucky because you don't have to worry about staying fit and losing weight.
If only I could eat as much as I want w/o gaining too many pounds :P |

Holy crap, dude! lol Perhaps for this month you should make visits to Subway pre 9 am. Who can resist BOGO food! There's a subway across the street from work, and a buddy and i walked over yesterday. he bought my breakfast for me, and the cashier screwed up and only charged us for our beverages. $2.50 for us both to have a 6" sub and a drink.. WIN!
Paid it forward this morning and bought breakfast for another friend (would've bought one for the guy who paid for mine yesterday, but he had already eaten). I was not so fortunate to receive a bank error in my favor... but $6 aint so bad to feed 2 folks :) |

various types. ranch has always been my favorite flavor but it's one of the unhealthiest dressings, so i try to find basic/organic/non-dairy options

Ranch tastes good but it has MSG in it, so I stopped eating eat.
Oil and Vinegar is my favorite. Olive oil with balsamic vinegar. I have a head of lettuce. I should probably make a salad soon.

When I lived in Brazil there really was no salad dressings. Salad there is usually served with a lil salt, lemon, and vinegar. Its actually very light and tasty.

I wonder if back in the day it was ever common to eat salads without dressing? I mean it would seem dressing has been around forever, but what if at one point that was normal to just eat it plain. But I'm sure that didn't last long! |

I owe all my grattitude to hot sauce. I put hot sauce on evrything. Even on the salad I just ate.
Tobasco is the best. It keeps its heat and flavor very well after you put it on food. I also eat salsa on a pretty regular basis. I've pretty much cut out mayo, ketchup, bbq sauce, ranch etc. for good.

I had an idea in my head of what i wanted to do with it, then I used this site to make sure all the ideas were right in my head. watering down the salsa was about all i hadn't thought of, and it turned out perfectly. If you do a vegetarian version (i.e., omitting the meat and substituting beans or possibly TVP), cut the water to about 2/3, as the one i made for my gf wound up a bit soppy.
Well duhhh! It's frickin delicious! and also part of the reason we Americans are so fat lol. Other options to try: sausage grease, bacon fat. Bacon fat's my personal favorite.. it will make the eggs look a bit darker than oil or butter, but mmmmmmmm, bacon! Made some sausage patties yesterday for breakfast (along with a purple potato hash) and cooked the eggs in the sausage grease. Surely unhealthy, but om-nommed the hell out of it lol |

Burned some of my dinner tonight because I was playing Gran Turismo while cooking...Fail. It was pan-fried seasoned sausage, green beans, onion, garlic, and steamed asparagus with rice on the side. I'll have to bite off the burned parts lol

I hate it when I try to cook something and accidently burn it while doing something else. Sometimes I go check my email while toasting bread and then I accidently burn it. One time, I was talking with my friends and I let the pizza burn black.

That always happens to me, too! If there's something that I really like, then I never order anything but it. It's a really bad habit but I hate it when I try something new and then it tastes bad and then I never want to try new things again. |
