I would definitely rather be dumb and be a people's person. I enjoy the female race too much and hanging with my friends.

Some of my best memories are when I act super dumb with my friends. Let the good times role. I would agree with you. |

I don't think that that is allowed. I think you'd have to leave it to fate who uses you, including fat chicks.

Tell the girl she's got a problem if she can't evade a fat bastard that moves at a pace of 10' an hour.

Would you rather jump 50 feet off a lift or suffer the effects of a roll back?

50ft lift probably. Find that spot that is filled with feet of fresh powder and a sloped area would help break your jump.
Im not to sure what a roll back is anyway haha anyone care to explain? |

I would probably drop 50 feet because you can at least have some control of what's going to happen versus being flung backwards with absolutely no control or see where you're even flying and spinning off to.

I confirm my statement. After seeing what a roll back is, I definitely wouldn't want to get bent up like those metal poles. But then again, 50 FT is a huge amount to fall from. A lot more than most people can imagine. Falling on a nice powdery slope off a lift would be better than getting violently thrown backwards off a crazy lift.

I agree, the rollback looks like certain destruction, especially considering there would be people back there waiting to get on that you will be thrown into. However 50 ft is about 8-9 times a person's height, even hitting what looks like soft pow from that height could be brutal.
I think I may actually pick the rollback simply because there will be medical help immediately on the scene. Also, even though the rollback looks like complete mayhem, you'll notice the weights flying off the lift seats don't actually fly that far or high as to make me certain that a person would be severely injured. |

I don't think I want to get on any old lifts after watching that rollback video! Still, that might be the better choice if you are able to jump off before the base, where there's less than a 50' drop.

Yeah, the momentum would make it tough though, since you wouldn't drop straight down, you'd drop at an angle at high speed. But it's still what I would choose. Hope no one ever gets faced with this decision! |

The weights are just a small block with no limbs or appendages to alter your flight as you swing your limbs around to get balanced. You would get a better idea if they had used test dummies.

I'd take roll back. Not all roll backs are that bad I think that video was an extreme case.

So how does a rollback happen? The first time I heard of it was in this thread.

@thisisjoebro, it's rare I think since the most recent incident I found in the news was 2009 in Wisconsin, where a brake failure caused a rollback that injured 14 people.

But are those people all from the roll back or collateral damage?

I feel like if only 14 people got injured I would go for the rollback haha. Thats not that bad, no one died.
