Geez. I probably wouldn't be able to appreciate the high life from ages 1-16 maybe.....but I'd still choose 25 rather than 100 years in the slums. That's just way too long....and miserable.

100 years of misery is really not worth living, so I'd go with the 25 good ones.

How much should the CEO of a non-profit organization make??

I just found out that the CEO of the United Way makes somewhere between $700K-$900K.

Seems like too much, but then where do you draw the line?

^Are you haggling for a hypothetical deal? I like it.

It doesnt say you would be miserable, just 100 years in the slums. 25 years in the 1% might actually really suck. And since I already turned 25, does that mean I would just be dead?

I'm going with the 50 year deal Hwy12 has negotiated!

I'm well over 25 and ppl keep telling me the best years are ahead of me. That mentality could help with the 100 yrs in the slums. I'd have to go with longevity over living the high life.

WTF are you talking about?  That's quite a meaningless post other than your cute little link to cardigan sweaters.  I don't think this is your target audience for those sweaters...

I'd go for the 25 years of bliss over 100 years of sorrow. Quality over quantity, makes perfect sense here. Some people tried to bargain with 50 years of so-so life... I still would prefer the 25 of bliss.

Do you really want to look back at your life and say, "I lived a so-so life."

I wouldn't want to live 100 years unless my dog could live that long too, so I pick 25, probably even if I weren't living the high life.

That's an odd stance, considering that in real life you could live to 100, and your dog will make it 20 years at best.  Considering how worn dogs get after 15 years, I don't think I want to see a 100-year-old dog.

25 years of the high life.

the only image i have of the slums is from what i see in the movies.  i mean, if i always lived there, and that was normal to me, maybe i wouldn't care.  and maybe i would want to live to 100 there instead.  but from a point of where i am now, with american culture brainwashing me of what i want, i don't think i could stand the slums.

I'd take 25 years in the slums. No perks, like two ply toilet paper. Single ply is hardcore. Slum life playboy!

You make a good point here. I also wouldn't want my family to go through the struggle of living in the slums.

Aliens have invaded earth. Everything is on lockdown.

The hostile Aliens are smart and technologically well equipped, but they are those little grey weaklings with big shiny eyes.

Anyway, when the lockdown happens you were shopping at Home Depot. With the tools and materials at your disposal, what do you build to defend yourself against the aliens?

Just a garden hose, because if M Night Shyamalan taught me anything, it's that aliens are basically unstoppable unless you throw water at them.  How stupid is that premise?  These aliens have plans to take over a planet that is 70% water, which apparently is toxic to them.

Shovels, sheets of steel, lots of wood, axes, hammers, nails, pretty much anything to build a sturdy defense structure.

If they are very advanced technologically, I don't think anything built with materials at home depot will be effective.

I would set up barricade all around home depot then set up a underground tunnel to costco. (there is bound to be a nearby one) And just cover myself with sharp and blunt weapons

Five gallons of water
Thirst is your worst enemy when stranded

Flare gun with 2 shots
For rescue boats or choppers

Two way radio with 10 mile radius
In case a boat comes close

Week of food rations
For hunger

Flesh light
For obvious reasons

Nail gun.  Shoot 'em in their big shiny eyes.

Skip the flesh light, just make friends with the girl working the hot dog stand.  After she sees my prowess with the nail gun she will want me nailing her.

Well if they're smarter and more technologically advanced then I don't think there's much you can defend yourself with from Home Depot.

^^ Now, if only you were at Lowe's; you'd have a fighing chance.

Now, asuming the aliens sent a strike force, we still have the upper hand where it counts: numbers.  Sheer numbers.  But it means that six BILLION people are going to have to play ball.  I would start by getting in intercom and it's time to lead these fellow do it yourselfers to victory.
Ctoma- man the nail guns, and bring your friends.  Set up an 8-point perimiter.  This is our strip mall, and we have to defend it.
Itz- you obviously get the nutritional value.  Get it done, but multiply your numbers by the folks in this orange and tan fortress.
Math- the Costco thing is pure brillience.  Round up 20 abled bodies and get diggin fool!

The rest of you, come with me.
