Direct Link To This Post Topic: Your Member Discount & 2012 Product Pricing
    Posted: Sep/30/2011 at 9:01am

Dear TruSnow Community Members,

We have removed the member discount from all 2012 products. The member discount will not go live on these products until the agreed discount date requested by the vendors/brands.

We would like to apologize to our customers for not maintaining a certain level pricing that you had come to expect with many products that arrived on the site for 2012. We hope that you will continue to see the value in our huge inventory of 2011 and earlier products that you can buy using your member discount.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

The TruSnow Crew

Totally, people are so funny, on MOST things there really is hardly any difference at all between a year unless it's a totally new thing.  Otherwise, it's probably just a new fancy thing that you wouldn't notice anyways.  Getting last seasons gear is one of the best way's to save cash on something you were willing to pay full price for less than half a year ago.

^^^ the major difference is generally that the good stuff (in your size, etc.) is gone . . .

But COMtnRider.. I have to have the newest gear!  It makes me ride better.. even if the only difference is the new graphic or new colorway.. it def makes U better!  Didn't U know that!!?!?

^ plus don't forget the stickers on the base as well as the lighter fluid and covering the whole board up with stomp pads

I don't know why people are upset...this discount wasn't supposed to be there in the first place.  I was quite surprised that it was there really and how long it took for it to be taken off.

Agreed, this is definitely the main problem with older gear.  I have noticed they have quite a bit of stock of older stuff, if you are willing to get a different color than initially planned.  To me, saving 50% is worth having a different color, but that's just me

There is absolutely nobody on this forum that supports TruSnow because they are loyal to the "shop."

I used to call this place a community...unfortunately, it's just a pts forum now.

Seriously dude, if you're looking for community, there are tons of actual ski/snowboarding groups that you can join.  This is a for-profit store's message board with people from all over the world.  How much community can you expect to find here?  That's not to say that the customers here aren't friendly and helpful, but in the end we are all just customers.

^^ If you woulda been here in the sierra days you woulda known how great of a community it really did used to be, not to say there arent still good people on here, but a lot of posts these days are just spam for points. A lot of the people that truly held the community together left when TruSnow took over and thats when it all went downhill.

But like I say thats then this is now, there are still great people on this site and unless something drastic changes I won't be going anywhere.

There actually was a strong community here.  Unfortunately most of them have just all ditched out because of the ever increasing amount of worthless crap that gets posted every day.

You've got to be kidding. Why would they not stock medium bindings? Apparently that's what most people use, because you can never find them anywhere.

Dunno, but that's what I said too.  But the TruSnow rep said S and M do not sell well so they're not going to stock on them, so buy online somewhere else.  Confused

It was someone named Jake, but I also spoke to someone named Keisha a few times and she didn't argue against what he said either so I guess it must be true.

I mean you can go to the-house and see the stock that TruSnow would/should eventually have.  Just browsing Union, Rome, and Burton, I see M/L's, S/M's, and small and mediums for each brand respectively.

Maybe the House and TruSnow will sell different sizes because even if you look at the 2012 bindings on TruSnow you'll only see size L and XL for all of the new 2012 stock.

@nampolooza I was looking at Men's bindings.

Really? 10% was keeping you from buying a board from your local shop? Do they give away a snowboard/bindings and 2 sleeves 5 days a week? Do they reward you for that mentally challenged post on a forum? No? hmm maybe you should buy from here then since they will reward you for dollars spent + that mentally challenged post you just made come on man 10%?

Do they reward you for that mentally challenged post on a forum? No? hmm maybe you should buy from here then since they will reward you for dollars spent + that mentally challenged post you just made come on man 10%?

That's a little harsh... like he said, 10% of 400-600 dollars is a lot of money for someone short on cash. Back in my college days, if I had suddenly found an extra 60 dollars to spend... I would've been mad happy.

I'm not defending people who expect member discounts to be handed to them on a silver platter but I can still understand people getting frustrated. Times are tough and people want to spend less, who could blame them? Japan's economy is pretty crappy just like the States right now and from what I've heard, snowboarding sales have been down so far this year for the new season...and that's with most companies lowering prices due to the strong yen.

Agreed, this is definitely the main problem with older gear.  I have noticed they have quite a bit of stock of older stuff, if you are willing to get a different color than initially planned.  To me, saving 50% is worth having a different color, but that's just me

I agree with this for the most part but there is still good deals to be had hear and elsewhere. A month ago I picked up the rome agent rocker for half price and I just grabbed a pair of ions for 40% off and a sweet pair of paints for 40% off.  There is a boat load of outerwear on this site at good prices.

Dunno, but that's what I said too.  But the TruSnow rep said S and M do not sell well so they're not going to stock on them, so buy online somewhere else.  Confused

i call bullcrap.

that is stupid. they do realize in this line of business, we are those that are repeating customers. when we buy (or myself for sure) l buy beyond just binding, l usually get board and boots to keep everything fresh. no binding= no board= no boot= lost $$. this is especially true for non-US customers. l would understand if you stock maybe 40% less than last yr, but not to have any would be out right dumb.

Doug,

"The member discount will not go live on these products until the agreed discount date requested by the vendors/brands."

So what is the agreed discount date?
