Planning a snowboard trip this winter but can't decide where to go. Wanna go north and so far got it narrowed down to Jay Peak VT, Killington VT, or Whiteface NY. Any opinions or other ideas? Id like some good long runs and powder if possible. Price is also another factor

hey if i was you, id look up to see if there is any ski clubs around where you live. See where they are going and get a friend or someone to go with you. The clubs get pretty good deals on lift tickets and hotel rooms as well. worth checking out

the further north you go the better the snow will be, so you can already rule out Killington. I would say Jay Peak is your best bet. If you want a better winter then you better head out West for real pow.

**unless its a great winter like last season with same amount of snow then killington would actually be good**

checkout Sunday River in Maine. it's a bit farther north but the tradeoff is no crowds and much better snow.

The problem that you can run in to with Jay Peak is that although it gets good pow days, it also has plenty of days where it's getting blown out and icy.  That can happen anywhere but they are known to have very high winds.

Killington is a sick mountain thats where all the buddies i snowboard trip to during the season usually multiple times. One of the top mountains on the east coast IMO.

True, but typically then the snow is blown into the trees where you can often find some fresh pow ... if the lifts are running

Sugarloaf I hear is amazing to go to. Only place in New England with above the treeline riding. Check out Stowe too. A great place I have found to get great deals on trips is www.snosearch.com . You get lodging and tickets at a real good price.
