Loon is decent place and I would recommend it. We go their often primarily because it is fairly close to us (2 hours) and has good terrain spread out over three peaks. The South Peak is opening 3 new Double Black trails that I am anxious to get on. They have great parks as well and you can couple a trip to Loon with Cannon Mountain that is 15 minutes away.

Loon is fun.... steep when compared to other hills around it.

If you make that trip to Cannon, dress warm.... the angle of the terrain in relation to wind makes it VERY cold during the heart of the winter.

+1, Cannon often gets very windy but they have nice steep terrain and Mittersil is great with some fresh pow.

I've only been once, during Spring Break last year, so it was a really warm out and slushy. Still was one of the most fun days I had all year :)There are a lot of trails to explore if you have never been there. I don't go in the park so I can't give you much advice there, but I do remember seeing some HUGE jumps.

Typical East coast timing.... Late Jan early Feb are prob your best months to ride anywhere in New England.

+1, Loon is usually at 100% by early Jan and they are getting enough storms by that time to keep the glades open.

ive been riding loon and waterville my whole life. loon is easily one of the best places to ride in nh. the parks are super sick and the halfpipe is wicked awesome guy. jusst stay away fri sat sun if possible. the lines blow harder than bree olsen. waiting an hour for the gondola on weekend is short. also loon is very pricey
