    Posted: Oct/15/2011 at 10:03am
I live in Las Vegas and we are planning our family snow trip this winter and were going to do Colorado, but with time and travel constraints are going to keep it a little closer to home.  That leaves Big Bear (which we did last year) and the other 3 resorts in so-cal as well as BrianHead Utah and Eagle Point for the short trip.  Longer trip would be Mammoth and those around it or southern utah.

Since we went to Big Bear last year and always go to Cali in the summer, we wanted to go somewhere else so most likely BrianHead, but the cabin we found fell through.  There are 2 families going so we need to sleep 8, so options are limited.  Also need a family friendly hill as our 8 year old girls will be boarding with us.

I didn't see any threads on here about Eagle Point, I guess it's newly bought out, but we found some great cabins at great rates there, plus holiday lift tickets are cheap, so I was just wanting to see if anyone had been boarding there to let me know how it is.  Very hard finding reviews of the joint online since it's reopened (used to be Elk Meadows)

I posted this over the weekend, so maybe no one saw it.
We should all be at work or in class now Wink so any input is welcome.

I've never been to Eagle Point Resort but I live in Utah so I'll ask around and see if I can find out anything!

Thanks!
This season's family excursion is gonna be Brian Head, but Eagle Point seems like it would be less crowded and cheaper, which would be great for my 8 year old girl that just learning, so it's definitely on the list of possible locations.

Mr. Meaty,

Hi, I am one of the owner's of Eagle Point.  Check out the various winter videos on YouTube or checkout our Facebook site "Ski Eagle Point" to see what people are saying about the resort.

Hope to see you on the slopes this season!

Best,
Joe

Awesome!  I looked up some vids and looks like it didn't open till December 15th last season.  Seems kind of late for Utah.  I didn't find it on the site, but when do you expect to open for this season?  Also, was last season the first season you were open?

We are currently planning no later than 12-14 no earlier than 12-7.  It all depends on mother nature.  I will be out for all of December so be sure to look me up. See you on the slopes!

We will most likley be up week after Christmas.

Last season there was a shuttle from Powder & Sun Board Shop here in Las Vegas up to Eagle Point.  Was that done by the resort or by a third party?  And any ideas if it will happen again?  Last time, I found out about it to late to prepare Cry

The transportation you speak of was provided by a third party.  You will have to check in to see what's available.

What was the last day of the season up there last season?  And when is the projected end of the season this season?  I couldn't find it on your website and want to see if I can get the kids up there when they are out of school.

Just wondering...the drive from Las Vegas to Eagle Point the week after Christmas, are the roads usually pretty cleaned up or am I going to need chains?

Can't believe it's been so bad that Eagle Point hasn't even opened up yet this season...Hopefully this storm changes things!
