My husband spent a whole winter in Jackson Hole --- he would say there for sure. Some great backcountry.

It is the top mountain on my wish list right now. I want to go this year, but I was out voted by my buddies because on the finances, or lack there of this season. We are going to be hitting up a few different east coast mountain this year instead.

Crested Butte, CO at the top of my list. On a smaller scale Monarch, CO was wicked. No lines, fresh tracks everywhere...

Whistler, Mammoth, and collectively the Tahoe resorts would be my votes. Can't speak for the Rockies tho, since I've only been there off-season.

I believe whistler is in the Rockies. you probably talking about co, wy, ut, etc. In north america, I've only been to Whistler, Snowmass, Vail, and Mammoth. Will be heading to Jackson Hole in Feb. I thought they were all FANTASTIC. Except Vail. Hated vail. Too much traversing. Outside of north america, I've been to Cerro Castor, Las Lenas, El Colorado, Termas de Chillan, Annupuri/Niseko/Grand Hirafu, Akakura Kanko/Suginohara. my fav is still whistler but honourable mention goes to Niseko, Snowmass, Las Lenas

Whistler, in the Rockies? I don't think so. It's part of the Coast Range Mountains.

I've always wanted to go to Jackson and Whistler. Bachelor in Oregon is pretty amazing. |

I live in Oregon and I loved Mt. Bachelor.
It is a big mountain with a lot of runs. The snow is so fluffy. I had a great experience there. I go to Mt. Hood usually and I like the Skibowl resort for night riding. |

I'm also from the same area. I have to put a *notation on Bachelor's amazingness. It really does depend on the weather. Most of the runs are fairly flat. I can't speak about the terrain park as that's not what I ride. The back side is sweet, but is not always open.
I love Anthony Lakes in Eastern Oregon. It's a small "resort" with one fixed lift and cat boarding. There is never a crowd (even when two busses fill up the parking lots

Top 3 in all of North America....
Whistler-Blacomb Telluride Vail In that order. People who don't like Vail, it's because it's so big and if you don't know where to go you can get lost or never find the good stuff! |

people who don't like vail don't like it because there are a metric shit-ton of cat tracks all over the place and the crowds are out of control(just like the rest of summit co.) I've been to summit county.. tahoe..and all over montana and wyoming... best terrain is hands down jackson... pretty tough to argue that... squaw's terrain looks like it would be super sick with a bunch of pow but only got to ride it in sunny spring conditions.

Vail's back bowls are the best riding in the lower 48. Great snow, amazing tree runs, and some fantastic chutes. Those that dog on Vail just don't know where to go, yes it's huge, so u will be doing a lot of traversing but only if ur a noob to the place.... So follow a local and plan accordingly. Same goes for any other mega resort.
Whistler is amazing. The verticle drop is great, nice nightlife, and usually more snow than many lower states resorts. Damn expensive though! Mammoth is great, but can sometimes get the Sierra cement snow, and the high winds can blow 5 feet of pow off the mountain in one day. But I've had the best blue bird powder days there as well. No for the wild card.... Revelstoke. It's not huge like the previous mentions, although it makes up for it with vertical drop, Long, long, long runs, and some great natural cliffs, booters, tree runs, and a few small bowls. Very sick resort that every one needs to try once in thier life. |

I went to Breckenridge this past christmas break, a lot of the runs were closed then but it was still awesome. I would give it a 5 out of 5 stars. Im going to keystone for spring break and I can't wait, does anyone know the best runs there?
