Because he occasionally made trips there as a kid?

And yes, def check it out if you can. Park scene is awesome there and they have parks for all levels. Parks are well maintained and tend to switch it up fairly often. Mountain is fun to ride for a PA mountain especially on powder days if you know the right spots. It does get really crowded though on weekends if you plan on making a trip there. I've ridden there the past 4 years while at school so if you have any other questions I'll be glad to answer them.

Exactly.
7Springs was not Vito's home "mountain", Mr.Giant.

7Springs is fun though. Only been a handful of times in the past 3 years, but enough to know it's pretty rad. Don't know if it's worth more than a 5 hour drive though.

As someone posted on unofficial Squaw:  does SW have to park two miles away from the lift and ride a bus to get there like everyone else?

For sure, but Vito did spend a good amount of time as a kid shredding Mad River "Mountain", where I grew up riding. Def shared the rail lines with the kid when I was growing up....that's home mountain enough for me.

Fixed,

Or if you want to get real technical, it's actually in Valley High, Ohio. My mom's neighbor was one of the 2 founders of the place. Let me tell you, once I found this out in highschool, I was mowing his grass all summer long. Best christmas ever when he put a season pass in the mailbox. Woop to the Woop. LOL

Bellfountaine is the highest spot in the state, if I recall correctly.  So there's that.  And I think Mad River was probably the highest percentage of people wearing carhart gear on the ski hill I've ever seen (I think I was probably doing it as well).  Had some good times back there -- also some good times at 7springs back in the day, that place seemed real big the first time we rode it after having only ridden southern michigan and ohio resorts.  Not a bad east coast shred place considering all of the Steeler's fans you have to deal with.

Its a tough call to say whether or go or not. Its a fun mountain that I'd highly recommend going to if you have the chance. If you are really into riding park, than I'd say a definite yes. I rarely rode on weekends when I was at college mainly because of crowds but expect 15 minute waits if not longer.

As much as I despise living in OH, Mad River is pretty fun. LV is from Mad River.

Are you asking about Mad River in Ohio?

If so, it does get pretty packed on the weekends, and holidays. The place is small, only 300 vertical. Sometimes they don't have all the lifts running, and even whey they are all running, they are pretty slow. All of the lifts are out of date, even though they have a quad. They seem to stop the lifts a good amount too for noobs. There are 3 lifts that service the park though, and if they have them all running, you can get a decent amount of laps in.

And it gets packed because it's the best park hands down in Ohio, and I think it compares to other places in the region. They really do a pretty good job at interesting rail and jib lines. They change it up on a regular basis and it rarely feels stale. Problem is it's Ohio, so snow can get PRETTY hard.

Yea I'd say so, probably the time you want to avoid most.
