I am heading up to Sunday River this February. Any recommendations for where to stay? I am also looking for advice on the best restaurants and bars in Bethel to check out. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Stay someplace inexpensive. Leaves you more money for tickets and dinner.

I agree with that - better to just be clean, warm and dry at night without the frills and have some great food and board.

i went to SR the past weekend...friend hooked us up with a place to stay. anyway, depends on your group...if more than 6 people, consider renting a house/cabin (http://www.cyberrentals.com/search/keywords:sunday+river) and splitting the costs. more people = cheaper. and you save money on going out to eat...just cook at the place and bring sandwiches for lunch. you can of course still go out if you're a baller

I have never been to Sunday River before. I will eventually make it there one day. It got great reviews in Ski Magazine this year thanks to their snowmaking and grooming. The only thing that kept me booking a trip there this year was their lodging prices. They were by far the most expensive resort for lodging out of all the resorts i looked at. It was over $1000 a night for a two bedroom slopeside unit......no thanks! I did hear the Bethel Inn nearby is a nice place and a little less expensive if you don't mind driving or taking a shuttle. Anybody else have any lodging recommendations at Sunday River?
