I had the reverse crew and it worked out pretty nice. But it really depends on what price range you're willing to go for.

That works too but my bro's RC and Stunt never had chipping issues with the top sheet.

will admit that's a bit unbelievable...whatever the case, i just want the board to last a few seasons because another snowboard forum (snowboarding forum) made it look like it was gonna snap if you looked at it the wrong way

A snowboard is going to get dinged, chipped, scratched.  If you don't want dings, chips or scratches I highly recommend you buy some wall mounts and put that baby up on the wall.

can't go wrong with libtech or Gnu's for all mt rocker it's a bit pricey on the wallet. Most of my scratches come from the newbies in the lift lines who either don't know how to control their boards or don't pay attention when moving up

Good wood is very subjective and you have to pay to get in.  Besides, it is all subjective based on the person testing, who is completely different than you in regard to build, size, and preferences.  Don't even worry about good wood, it's just bullshit.

i have the sierra RC i like it. i filed the ends down like in that video and havent had a problem with it chipping, the top sheet gets scuffed up easily from standing on it getting off the lift but thats purely cosmetic its not peeling off or anything like that

while I agree that good wood is a sketch list of advertisers

but the whole subjective piece....is that any less subjective than coming on a forum and saying "hey help me pick out a board?"

Burton Joystick! I have the 2010 model but I don't think much is different from the 2011, and haven't looked to see if there is a 2012 yet.

The issue here is that I could just say pick anything that is on good wood, because it won a nice big award.  However, good wood is based solely on the testers, not on anyone else.  Sure these forums are subjective, but every now and then some people who have ridden boards will describe the feel of it.  Not just the basic "flex of 4, reverse camber" but the whole deal, regarding turning radius, flex in various areas, and other useful tips that are important when finding exactly what you are looking for.

OP what was the board you were looking into before you changed your mind?

There are several hundred boards that might fit your wants. Everyone here will offer their opinions but it comes down to preference. One of the best all mountain boards every year is a burton custom. But there are several cheaper priced options that provide an excellent board as well. Capita being one of them.

I came to really like the capita indoor survival and ultrafear for a all mountain board with rocker.Check out the stuff from GNU and Lib tech if you find you find yourself riding in ice a lot. The GNU and Lib Tech stuff are also great boards and almost everything in their line up can handle whatever you throw it well.

Get the RC its basically a re-branded Burton Custom V Rocker. Or look at the Capita Indoor Survival. It's flat kick so it's a bit different than full V Rocker. I prefer flat kick for a little extra stability and edge hold.

Ehh not true. They just keep making the orginal MSRP higher. When if first came out I believe it was 499$ Although I don't know what the Custom V Rocker was worth but thats basically the same board. I thing they modified the carbon layout (correct me if im wrong) in the RC. Dont know the specifics.

RC is a good board for the price, but there are differences from the custom. I would say the board is worth what they are selling it for, not more.

Actually, it's a process build with a custom shape.  Basically it is a 400 dollar board, and not anywhere close to 600.  So you are still getting a discount just not a true 50% discount.

I've gaper proofed my Rome Crail and Sierra Crew, of course you'll still get scratches and the occasional small chip.. but overall if will prevent the topsheet lifting from impacts..

Did they even have a process when they made the Reverse Crew? That would be the 09-10 year. I thought the processes didn't come out till 10-11

it has the composition of the burton process but the mold of the custom v-rocker........yeah, it's definitely not a $600 board, as another post mentioned...

I own the Palmer Saga and it is solid. Heard good things about the Forum Dreamboat too.
Nothing to it but to do it.
