I know this is counterintuitive, but has anyone done this before?
I injured both my tendons 6 months ago, and I think I have to get stiff boots to be able to snowboard again, but all I do is park and butters all day. Any workarounds/suggestions for boots or bindings that might help? Thanks! |

Well if you get boots that are rated stiff I guess you could always not tighten them up all the way if you don't like them too stiff.

i been using ThirtyTwo Primes for the last 2 seasons and they're supposed to be a stiff boot (10/10 on 32's flex rating 10 being the stiffest) and i love em for riding anything and everything. i hit the park and butters all day no problem... then again, thats just me.

I wear Malamutes (which are just a bit softer than hardboots) and buttering is not an issue, you will be fine.

U will be fine w/ stiff boots. U will just have to get used to the faster response to your movements in stiffer boots. Butters have noting to do w/ boot flex so they will be the same for U.
It's going to just be all about getting used to the stiffer boots. U will still have a ton of fun! |

i think there is some truth to this. butters might actually be easier with stiffer boots, more of your leg movement and strength goes directly to flexing the board, rather than the slop in soft boots. i think you'll be fine. get some softer bindings and i think you'll get used to it quickly.

a lot of guys are rocking stiffer boots for this. jed anderson, justin benee, etc etc etc.. lots of guys riding the nike ZF1 which is a more supportive boot (for example on burton's scale they would probably be a 9/10 compared to the boots they give the ratings too)
it's all preference and it's not like more supportive boots hurt your jibbing, especially if you don't have a really wide stance.

Haha thanks guys. That helps a lot.
I'm planning on trying on some Vans Aura's or some of the DC boots, because they tend to have the least forward lean. I'll def check out the Nike ZF1's too. They look like they'd work. |
