2011 East Coast Mountain Opening Dates

Killington and Sunday River are already open but with only a couple of trails

I wasn't thrilled to say it either.

I'm going to try to get my money's worth on a couple multi-day trips, the 2nd week of January and the 3rd week of March. My schedule isn't as flexible as it once was.

Yes, I can hear the glades of Jay Peak calling my name, but I'm hearing some unmarked terrain calling me too, like 'Poop Chute' and 'Hershey's Squirt'. (Vermonters sure do have a strange sense of humor when it comes to naming their secret off-trail stashes). I think I just picked up a great board to really charge those steep tree lines.

The anticipation is killing me!

Sugarbush is projecting Thanksgiving day, Stratton says 'around Thanksgiving' as does Jay Peak, Smuggs, and Stowe. There will be some riding to be had this weekend.

Okemo - Nov 22nd
Stratton- Nov 23rd

All depending on weather for snowmaking, and opening will only have a hand full of trails. Okemo had to push back their date by 4 days already
