Hey all-
I thought I'd start this off since some mountains will hopefully be opening soon. If you know of an official opening date, or even just a projected one, throw it up here. Browsing the website of every ski area in the region is a little time consuming, so it would be cool if we could consolidate all of the information here. I'll mostly be riding at Berkshire East this year, but their projected opening date is just 'Early December'. I wish it was a little more specific than that, but it's still too early to tell.

Nice idea for a thread, too bad I don't really have much info to add. Killington is open and Mount Snow should be opening in a week or so.

The part in bold might just give me nightmares, please say it ain't so! Wait, do you hear that too, listen...it's Everglade, Beaver Pond and Timbuktu telling you to take Wednesday's off at least 2x every month from Jan.-Apr.

I wasn't thrilled to say it either. I'm going to try to get my money's worth on a couple multi-day trips, the 2nd week of January and the 3rd week of March. My schedule isn't as flexible as it once was. Yes, I can hear the glades of Jay Peak calling my name, but I'm hearing some unmarked terrain calling me too, like 'Poop Chute' and 'Hershey's Squirt'. (Vermonters sure do have a strange sense of humor when it comes to naming their secret off-trail stashes). I think I just picked up a great board to really charge those steep tree lines. The anticipation is killing me! |

Sugarbush is projecting Thanksgiving day, Stratton says 'around Thanksgiving' as does Jay Peak, Smuggs, and Stowe. There will be some riding to be had this weekend.

Cataloochee has made snow and has been opened the past two weekends from Lower Omigosh down, to include the Terrain Park. Not the best conditions but they are blowing about 30 inch bases on Thursday & Fridays just to have it melt between Mon and Wed. |

Wednesday afternoon and evening they are calling for 4-8" of snow at higher elevations through Northern VT, NH, and into Maine.
Then it's going to warm up over the weekend and most of it will be gone, but hey, at least it's some real snow, and it may make a difference for resorts that are trying to open for the weekend.
