Hello everyone!
So I've been snowboarding casually for a couple years now and I think it's about time I stop renting gear and get some of my own, and my friend suggested this place for its very helpful advice, and as a snowboarding noob when it comes down to terminology and gear, I'm pretty glad to come here. So I'm male, 170 cm tall, 55 kg, or around 5'7, 121 pounds. My shoe size is US 8.5. My skill level is I guess beginner-intermediate, I can link S-turns on intermediate slopes and J-turn my way down black diamond slopes. I haven't done terrain parks yet and I can't do tricks besides an ollie and 180. I like freeriding, but I'd also like to get into freestyle and powder. I'm a real noob when it comes to gear, so I have a predilection for Burton boards, but if you experts disagree, please tell me. If there's any more information needed to gauge what sort of board I should get, feel free to ask! Thanks a lot for your help! |

Weeeeeell. honestly you have your pick of the litter so to speak. Most all round boards are pretty much designed for people who just want a bit of it all. This means you have a lot of choice... but on the other hand it means... you have a LOT of choice. :)
What youre ideally looking for is a board with a medium-soft flex　and er... thats about the limit to your restrictions. :) Probably go with something around 148, but you can go up or down a couple of cms without too much bother (though if you have no preference just kinda stay in that range). Ideally, what you probably want to do is get on chat and see if the staff can help you narrow it down a bit. Theers simply way too many boards out there for what youre (probably) after.
