Raging buffalo is a small little hill that i ride at basically every week. One of the people that rides there wrote on a salomon giveaway that he wanted them to ride at buffalo and HE WON!!!!!!!.
The Salomon team will be stopping by in the next few months and i cant wait for them. My favorite riders jed anderson and chris griener are going to be there. If you live in illinois you should stop by for a amazing day.

it's just a terrain park on a tiny hill with only one rope tow (got to be one of the smallest ski areas in the country)...but you'de definitely get good at rails and hardpack jumps and looks like they have a small but decent, well maintained halfpipe

This is crazy, it looks like my backyard! All I need is a rope tow. And snow. Probably need some snow to make this work.

36 for a half day. Wow thats like crazy expensive for that little hill. I wouldn't pay 36 for a full day. MI has a place like that only a little bigger and its 16$ for a full day.

Soo...anyone go to their web site and read up on the place?

http://www.ragingbuffalo.com/snowboarding-park-skiing-resort

For starters gotta love the stock photo of some backcountry booter.

But go to the rates page. Shit is just out of control. Add in the "park membership" fee's, and rates, and times you can use it, and A,B,C....and so on...
Are they kidding me?! Place should be a flat fee for 1/2 day, and full day. End of story. Oh, and the fact you have to sign a wavier is pretty lame. I understand it, but it's still lame.

475 for a season pass? it's a hundred dollars less for my local hill with a park that is 3 times as big, and so on, and so on. Damn dude....
I understand that people go, and it's like the only option for how ever many miles, but that is just lame on their part. It can't cost that much to run the place. And I will assume that the grooming, and snow conditions do not warrant a $32 week day pass, or a $45 weekend pass.

Bleh, /rant as I am not even sure how I got into this.
Either way, place looks/seems like a total ripoff.

I mean after school hop in a car and im there ready to shred. Its just convience for me i guess. Im totally wasting my money but i just need to shred. I should save up that money but thats where all my friends ride and thats where i ride. I mean thats like home to me.

Yeah, hope I didn't come off like I was trying to shit on you or anything. I just seems to me that they are charging what they are, because kids in the area are basically trapped geographically. Don't get me wrong. If it was like 15 buck for a "day" pass (lets say 6 hours) I would be there all the time too. Bet it's a great place to learn some new tricks.
But hey, if it's where all your homies ride, so be it. I totally understand that. It sucks to always ride alone.

I would love to see what anderson does with the place though. Wink Any way for you to take vid?

Uhhhhhh what a fun day of riding with the buds. There was around 6 inches of straight pow. It all went away in the first hour, oh well! Well look at it this way i tried a cork 3 on accident. Uh in a 180 upside down is scary.

raging buffalo is my absolute favorite place to ride. you can always find fun in the little things if you have a creative mind. its a nice place to learn tricks, and improve them on bigger features. the only bad thing is that you shouldn't wear nice gloves because they get messed up on the tow rope.

I just saw that Raging Buffalo is going to have the Midwest's 1st Burton Riglet Park.  Unfortunately my son is only 7 months old so he isn't standing yet, but I hope they keep that as a permanent feature.  I would love to expose my son to snowboarding as soon as possible and this would be perfect since Raging Buffalo is only about 10 minutes away.
