Anybody have experience with these helmet cams? Trying to decide A)if it's worth it....and B)which one. Also if there are some others out there that get the job done, feel free to post.

If you don't mind the fisheye view then get the GoPro. It's smaller and more compact for helmet attachment and possibly lighter. ACT9K just looks more massive for a helmet cam.

I don't know much about ACT9K cam but I love my GoPro. It takes great picture and you can adjust it to non-widescreen if you don't want the fisheye view. It takes great video and is easy to carry around in your pocket if you don't want it attached to your helmet all day.

I just got the new gopro and its awesome.. I mounted it on my helmet and it obviously takes and makes great videoas and pics, and at a resonable price. I'd say go with gopro

Gotta agree with kirkalicious. Never heard of the ACT9K, and the main competition for the GoPro was the Contour, but I think the GoPro is definitely the cam to get for any adventure sports.

you can always edit to remove the fisheye from the go pro. Just a thought.

I haven't heard about Oregon Scientific camera for awhile. They kinda lost the battle of helmet camera I would go with the Gopro (probably 2) I have the 1 and I like it. I wouldn't go with the ACT9K bc I don't know if you can trust them company with return and getting other adapters. You can put the GoPro on anything on it.
The question is if you want to spend on money on the camera. Helmet camera aren't very good at filming the person riding expect for powder. Most people can't do cool enough stuff in 2D filming. If you follow people they are great fun and a easy way to film friends.

I took some video of my son this week on my new GoPro HD. The snow is constantly changing colors, I've found some references on Google and recommendations for a polarizing lens filter, has anybody else run into this problem? Any recommendations for editing software?

i'm curious about this as well. i've heard of these issues and i'd like to avoid the "reflections" in the snow. anyone have any luck searching google or any experience with this directly?

oh, and sorry to thread-jack. I'd definitely recommend the GoPro. like the others on this forum, I've only had experience with the GoPro, but it's awesome and I've got no complaints. I've even used it while scuba diving! gotta admit, those are some pretty cool videos with the fish-eye view...
