Cat is smaller than Sugar, but Sugar has been dragging their feet in the make-things-better department. They just started blowing on Big Red this week. Even with not-that-much-open, Sugar has been charging full price on their lifties.
App is definitely the place to go for park terrain -- they've done a great job with it so far! Cat has been crazy busy through Tuesday with a lot of traffic -- haven't looked at the cams yesterday or today. They've done a beautiful job of keeping coverage and getting a great base established. Most of the NC regulars I keep up with (heyo skiNC) frequent Beech the most. Great coverage, night sessions, quite a few of them have passes to Beech...more trails should open today, and they have been killing the snowmaking. |

Was planning to go to cat this weekend from Sun to Monday. If its that crazy busy, should I just go to Beech then? The goods runs at Sugar still isnt open, the lower halfs of the run at sugar is pretty weak.

Dang wish I saw your post before now! Beech's Winterfest was this weekend -- apparently a pretty good time to be had.
Cat didn't look that bad on the cams this weekend as far as traffic went. Hope you made it and had a good trip. |

I ended up going Sugar. It was pretty bad, but still had some fun. It rained like half the time. My friends got soaked half day. I knew that beech was going to be better but I figured it was going to be super crowed so i didnt go.
