I have to agree with ejay. However, I would keep in mind how bad it looks when beginners crash at skiing compared to boarding. I guess I would rather have fun boarding than investing the time, money and pain that it would take to crossover. But maybe I am just intimidated. |

A lot of the people I know who has worked at resorts for more than a year or two, skis and snowboard. It is more common for snowboarder to do both (at a high level) in my experience. I know a few kids who which and really enjoyed it.

I was going to type this verbatim. Half the fun of snowboarding was learning and improving, so why not pick up skiing and learn some new things. Just what ever you do, don't attempt a heelside brake. :)

I kill it at snowboarding but recently my buddy gave me his old twin tip skis. I made the crossover because of the weak conditions at tahoe right now. It's quite fun to have a new challenge on the down snow days. I'll always bust out the board for the powder days.

I was a skier from age 5 until I was 19, you're not missing anything. Before I got into boarding I almost got back into skiing, then I remembered that snowboards existed and made the right choice.

I started of as a skier as well but it is more fun to snowboard. It is always a good choice to have both. If you fall down to much and your pelvic bone can't handle it anymore you can always go back to skiing.

I skied as a kid, but never really enjoyed it, and never got very good. I picked up snowboarding at the end of college, and it's been a blast ever since! I have a coworker who wanted to try something new, so he went from snowboarding just about any terrain thrown his way to be a beginner skier. I think he can do groomed blacks, now.

Do both. They are completely different.. both are very fun. I've gone from Skiing to boarding... eventually I'll go back to skiing when I'm old and gray...

The other day on the slopes. I was sitting next to a little girl who's probably 7 or 8? maybe even younger..She was hating on boarding haha said she like skiing better because it was easier. It was too hard to board.. balancing was hard. then she dashed off once we landed.

I skied as a kid and would like to try again, but man, the gear is way more expensive than boarding. Until I can find a set up for less than $300, I will have to stick to being a knuckle dragging snowboarder.

I've always wanted to learn to ski because I want to try those telemark skis. Everytime I see one of those, I admire their fluid style.
