They are so dope, in fact, that rappers wear them as regular shoes. haha But seriously, I have only ever read positive reviews about Nike Board Boots. They look good and they are well made and perform well. |

People have been doing this for years. MCA wore snowboard boots or snowboard goggles in several videos as well as on album covers, the only difference is he actually boarded.

Spenser you are getting old on us -- don't let it happen. I think it looks cool, but my boots smell way too disgusting to actually wear anywhere off the hill besides the closest bar. -b P.S. Our firm was suing Pharrell (Star Trak Ent.) when I got hired about a guy that got stabbed in Reno after a Clipse concernt (go figure). I was hopeful I would get to depose him but that didn't occur.

Hahaha so funny. Not only does it look ridiculous but I'm also sure its very inconvenient. Walking up stairs is weird. Some boots are pretty squeaky. Sweaty feet. Drawstrings, long laces. Stiffness.
They are made for snowboarding.

TFA is still freeride FK. the camber is fairly minimal and extends a few inches past the binding inserts, and then goes into a mellow rocker after that. fairly firm flex on that board too.

Which model board has the white owl graphic? Is it the quiver killer? Regardless, sweet looking board. I just got to play around with a few models of the Flux 2013 bindings and couldn't believe how smooth the ratchets were. They felt almost smoother than Burton's and way smoother than the Union buckles. I also saw a model of cartels that came with an asymetrical ankle strap. Very tempting.

Hey spenser.. or anyone, know what the difference between the rome 390 boss and 390 boss decade was on last seasons model? I've googled it and can't find anything. Is it just a different colorway or what?

yeah, that one looks rad. the only thing i don't like about most k2 boards that i'd normally be interested in is the rocker... most of them are flat middles and rockered tips. boo!
if the ultra dream was flat i would probably try it. johan rode one last year and said he loved it

yea normally I'm not a big fan of that kinda camber but it would prob be nice for those days that are just a little more then is fun on my AG if we are lucky enough to get any of those day's this year. I would like a different camber combination for me personally but the shape is perfect. I could just get the core to press to what i want send it back and let them finish I would never let that board go ever.

never ridden lobster or bataleon or tbt. rome has a similar base design with "nohangups," where there is a diamond section of the base that's normal, but it lifts up a little around the corners. pretty similar to tbt but not exactly the same. supposed to do the same thing for the board's performance/feel as far as i can gather from what both companies say.
http://www.romesnowboards.com/board-tech/nohangups
i got a 2013 butterknife prototype that i was supposed to test last year. i didn't spend a ton of time on it (just a few days or so), but as far as i could tell, i did not like that profile much at all. i liked it in pow cause it's based on a totally flat profile and the board was actually a solid medium flex unlike the production model is (feedback from us syndicate guys got them to change it to fit the flex number they gave it), but on groomed snow it just felt weird. it never felt consistent. i much disliked how when you were flat or barely on edge, it was only gripping in the middle and felt loose overall, but as you got up on edge, the tip and tail would engage and you got the grip of the full edge. i don't like having it go back and forth like that. it felt loose sometimes and more normal other times. i like my board to be smooth in that respect. had i spent more time on it, i would have gotten used to it, but i don't think that profile is for me. they also sent me a crossrocket to test this year, which has the same nohangups design but it's applied to a full-camber board, which is how bataleon is. i think i will like it more just cause it's more my style board in the first place (stiffer, longer) and i think having regular camber might help me like it more, but i'm still apprehensive about nohangups, having ridden it on another board. i know i would have enjoyed the butterknife a lot more had it not had nohangups. the board its self was fine. longer reply than you probably expected, hah. for sizing, i'm the same height but 145lbs and would probably ride a 54 or so for an all around park board. it's all preference though. i would suggest something in the low 50s for you. also depends on the specific place you're riding. a huge park in mammoth is a lot different from a rail garden in the midwest, for example.

I just saw the 2013 ultradream in the shop and love the superscooped shoveltip nose and tail. The contact points also seemed further back, accentuating the nose/tail scoop. I'd love to take that board on a powder day. Not the coolest graphics, but I'd love to feel how it rides.

ah thank you so much. i ride in ontario so i don't see any giant features. i have a 154 right now and it felt too long and stiff last season, so i'm going to try a 150. or is that too short? shouldn't be because it's only 2 cm off each tip.. so this lifted base feels weird, what's a tested and proven park board? |

150 would be fine for what you're going to do with it
it feels weird to me personally, but tons of people like bataleon and a lot of people have liked the butterknife and crossrocket at demos, so it's really just a preference thing like everything. classic tested and proven park board is a true twin mid flex deck with whatever your favorite rocker profile is. every company has one.
