Wow, did we really need another one of these "Don't bump my board, brah!" threads?  Please refer to all of the cyber-angst and aggression on:

If that doesn't suit you please go to an Ed Hardy forum.

Edit:  Wow, that was your first post, too.  The win is strong in this one.

You clearly are not going to do that, or this topic would be: I got arrested for hitting a guy with my snowboard.

Aside from reiterating a topic that has been done to death, nobody gives a rat's ass what your topsheet looks likes.  Ever spend a day jibbing the park - what do your edges, topsheet, and base look like after that?

Well played sir.. I rode Loveland Pass this weekend and there was a lot of nice Powder. Until I hit a hidden rock that put a Core Shot in my new board.

This definitely deserves a facepalm.  Please don't make the other snowboarders look bad by being a d-bag on the hill.

Many times when I get bumped, it's generally a boarder trying to cut me off in line.  I think you need to chill out and just ride!

Bullseye!!!
Snowboards are made to get used, beat up, fixed and beat up some more. If you really want a pristine board, mount it on your wall and don't ride on it. You'll be able to enjoy it 365 days of the year that way.

The OP looks quite young and it's his first post.. so we should go easy.

We all get bumped in the lift line, best you can do is ask them to stop if it continues. Not sure if anyone else still does this but I gaper gash proof my board's tip and tail to help in prevent topsheet lifting from impacts.

No no no....  He said he was like 40.  Not actually 40.  Just like 40.  I'm not sure what 40 is like, but the skier was acting like it.

that makes me mad, that awful stereotype that teen snowboarders are punks. The teens at my hill like me get crapped on constantly from older skiers and boarders who just say stuff because we are young. Me and my friend are the most respectful and polite kids you will meet at Granite out there riding with SFC and we get talked AT constantly by people

I'm only 22, but I'm quickly understanding that people don't grow up, they just learn there is a general acceptance and respect for what those older than yourself have to say. And that get's abused.

I just erased two paragraphs on the subject, so just trust me when I say this: maturity goes a lot farther than age or the assumption that age guarantees wisdom. Keep being the bigger man and you'll go far. Smile

But I digress.

After carefully reading that, I'm still not sure if you are backing me, or telling me off? Haha, but by the part that says Keep being the bigger man im assuming you're behind me on this one. There are some respectable young boarders out there. And to all the people who are stereotyping and slamming me and my friends, think and observe us before you jump to conclusions.

Ha, sorry I'm not a writer. I was backing you.

The older skiers/boarders probably still have the mentality of high school kids (the whole senior/upperclassmen superiority complex). Age is nothing. They're still mentally kids.

Thanks for being a respectful and polite kid, those characteristics will open more doors. Let's replace "the bigger man" with "respectful person" and call it a day. Thumbs Up

I believe that careless skier that just cross back and forth across the trail are more of a risk than people who ski or board as I do. It is hard to predict where a skier is going if they move all across the trail. I have had plenty of close calls with SKIERS because they like to think they own the trail.

^^^the rest of the stuff from my post above did not post for some reason.
But don't get me wrong, yes it gets on my nerves, but I'm not going to be a dick about it. I won't run my mouth off about it. I have seen alot of boarders around my age go off about it and get kicked off the mountain. Just keep your comments between you and your friends, and stop making it seem like all boarders are ignorent teenagers.

i'm sure skiiers say the same thing about careless snowboarders...the abuse you put your board through is so much more than a little bump from the next person...just chill and recognize that ppl are not doing it on purpose..it's just a little accident...you wouldn't want to get whacked the next time you accidentally scrape someone else's gear would you?

Careless anyone is dangerous but skiers should be more considerate of others since you have a full range of vision while facing forward while boarders have to turn their head and can't see what's on their backside.

^ this is really the major point here. I usually switch over to either foot so that I can see uphill into merging skiers/riders, but there are times when I don't and I've had somebody fly into me because they were bombing the hill. I can't twist my neck 270 degrees to look out for these folks. I was on my brand new snowboard for less than 40 seconds off the lift and his skis had slashed my topsheet. It won't matter if they ski or board, people are inconsiderate altogether.

It won't matter if they ski or board, people are inconsiderate altogether.

Bummer, my new board was dinged up by a careless person as well but luckily it was on the bunny slope so the damage was minimal.  LOL
