A skier at Sun Peaks this year skied straight into me on a near empty slope and broke my finger. I wasn't even moving at the time. I was on the side of the run talking to my friend.

You go down the whole mountain toeside? My instructor had a few arguments with skiers who thought he "cut them off" as he was carving across the hill at high speed. Not all skiers understand that downhill riders have the right of way. That said, I think it's smart to look up the hill as you go across.

as has been said before, I always try to be vigilant of other skies/riders wherever they are on the mountain.
Personal experience: I was riding in Vermont, sitting with a bunch of snowboarders, waiting to drop into a super pipe. A skier came and literally jumped over/through our group of 8 people. However, snowboarders can, believe it or not, annoy skiers also. I just did a report on this, and I have been snowboarding for 10 years...I've done some things, mostly unintentionally. Snowboarders sit to strap in at the top of a slope without staying to the side. I've seen a group of about 20 literally blocking the trail. in conclusion, be courteous!

Anyone who is careless on the mountain sucks - doesn't matter if its a skier or boarder or biker.

This is such a one sided post. I am a skier and snowboarder and I can say from personal experience that snowboarders are more careless going down the slopes than skiers and I think it's because there are more younger people boarding compared to skiing. And if u think snowboarders don't ram into you while waiting in the slope lines you're definitely wrong also

Being careless has nothing to do with whether you're a skier or a boarder, it's all just a mind set. You can't judge a whole group by the actions of few. I honestly see no difference in the amount of careless skiers vs. careless snowboarders.
