What's goin on people? Just got the Rome Artifact and I just needed some opinions or advice on what type of bindings to get. Popular bindings that always come up in topics are the Cartels, the SPI, the 390s, and the MFMs. Just wanted to know if anyone could give me a comparison on these bindings I read the cartel vs. 390 post, but how do those stack up against the SPIs, Relays, or the MFMs? I'm gonna be doing about 75% of my riding in the park and my boots are the the 32 Lashed.

390s are so good.
if you don't have the cash.... go with the arsenals. they're last year's 390s. ![]() missions or cartels are another good Option. |

390s are sick... but i have ridden every binding that you have mentioned, except the MFMs (mainly becuase i have some strong opinions about that queer, oops did i say that).. haha doesnt matter though.
I just got the new Salomon Relay Pros and i have to tell you, they are a year or two ahead of any binding out there. I saw it, and i got it expecting a normal high back ya know? well its got some cool inovation to it where it flexes kinda, but u dont really feel it, and hte heel cup is made out of something, but not metal and stuff. Just check them out. Im telling you from riding with customs, cartels, 390s, Drakes, and the Relay Pros... they are at least a year in front of everyone else... and yes its a toe cap and a non toe cap in one to. |

yeah, the Salomon relay series is soo sweet
way ahead of anyone else on the market. they have bars that help make a better transfer of weight from edge to edge and a more powerful edge hold. if you don't go with those, go with the ride beta movements they are rides flagship freestyle bindings from ride i'm a definent believer in rides because they last and they are super steezy and durable you will definently love them the yellow ones look soo cool with the black paint dripping down from the top of the high back ![]() they also come in a nice black and white that goes with basically everything ![]() |

those rides are pretty sweet lookin.
haha when i bought the relays i was expecting pretty much the same thing as the romes and Burtons and stuff, but i read great reviews about them. So i got them and opened the box and was suprised on how far up they were. thank god they are that good cuz they are 250. hahaha. Yeah you know they are good when David Benedek tested them out for everyone. Ehh nothing to big using them, just a Frontside Double Cork 12. |

What're the Relay Pros meant for? I heard they're freeride oriented, but can they work for some basic freestyle? I picked up some Union forces recently but have to return them since they're too small. Debating between sizing up and straight up returning them to pick up something else.
I typically just like to cruise and carve down blues and blacks, but I am looking to progress and get into at least some freestyle... is that too much binding for where I'm at? |

i have the Relay Pros and i like them a lot. they are nice and responsive but the weirdass highback/heelcup/cable system makes them flex naturally with your feet and ankles.
i'm actually getting a pair of 390's to try out, too. i have a friend that had them on last year's Artifact and he loves them. he actually rode with a Salomon boot, too. and after trying several bindings, i can definitely say, you can't beat a Salomon boot w/ a Salomon binding. i have the F20's from last year. the SPX Pros may not be a bad bet either. i had some last year that i liked, they were just too small. the SPX 55's are nice (i still ride those), they are pretty sensitive though and if you plan on spending much time in the park, they might just be too responsive and stiff. i love them, they are still probably my favorite bindings for cruising, hauling ass, and any sort of precision riding. |

you said that before and after riding them, i don't see that strong a distinction. meaning i don't see why someone would hate them anymore than any other binding. Edited by evernod - Dec/19/2006 at 2:44pm |
