Where is there to snowboard close to Boulder...i have a friend that lives there and was thinking of trying to go for the free place to stay....

you could try Eldora Mountain Resort, Winter Park Resort, Loveland Ski Area, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, or Echo Mountain

Keystone, Breck, and Copper should also be on that list. Vail and Beaver creek are not out of the question either...
You are looking at a 90 minute to two hour drive to all spots except Eldora. That one shouldn't take more than 45 minutes depending on where your friend lives in Boulder. It is also not a very great hill. Serviceable, but the I70 resorts are a lot better. |

Yeah if you are going to Boulder in all technical aspects Eldora is the closest....I recommend just driving to Summit country and visiting a resort mountain(Keystone, Breck or Copper Mtn) there. You'll have more fun.

Yes Eldora is much closer, but I haven't heard much about that resort.
