I'm a 5'11 Male, 160 lbs and my shoe size is an 11.5 US. My budget for the board is around 300$. I was wondering what kind of board i should get or just some tips in what i should look for in a board like Size/Width. I've never bought a board before, so im kinda new at this sort of thing. I just rented boards whenever i went out. Im a beginner/intermediate boarder. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Depending on what you're planning on doing, you'll probably need between 154- 162. Go lower if you want freestyle, higher if you just ride the slopes, and in the middle if you want something inbetween. You'll also need at least a midwide board with 11.5's, unless you invest in Palmer Plates. Given your budget (I'm assuming you want all mountain), of the SS boards I'd probably go with the K2 Illusion Wide or the Rossi Scope Wide... but I haven't ridden either. Post it up in the Staff advice section, see what they say. They should be able to match you up right quick. |

going with a smaller board will be easier to learn on.

hmm a smaller board or what they call begginer/itermidiate board does have a big downfall, and thats once you get over that step and want to do other things its more difficult and not the right kind of board in a way...
well im 6'2ish" and wear that same size of 11.5. My freestyle board is a 158 and my normal board that i used for backcountry is a 160... so size board you should get i think is a 154-156. haha i just rode on a 150 last weekend cuz i didnt have my boards in oregon and it was super funy spins. but i reccomend that size board and i got a good number for you here... i have used the Palmer riser plate thingys before and i didnt particularly care for them, but now i have a wide enough board to wear my boot doesnt even get toe edge, and it is a Rome Agent, which is an amazing good all around board, but i would not sell it to a begginer cuz its not meant for that. soo shoot for a board that is right around 25.4. that help ne in ur decision |
