Does anyone know what Vail's plans are for the bowls? Are they opening soon?

Blue Sky is some of the most overrated terrain in CO resorts, in my opinion. Flat, flat, rock drop to...flat. One good section is the cornice (Lovers Leap) which is lookers left off the chair towards the top there, but then you make the drop, get three or four good turns in and then... flat. The bowls in the middle back of Vail are much better for pretty much anything besides trees. |

I agree with you in terms of Blue Sky being flat but it is still some nice riding, especially for people that have never been and if you are going with a group with varying difficulties then it is a great place to ride. Every time i have ridden it, it was like a winter wonderland.

okay where are other awesome places to go in the back bowls. That will be my first time there. Are people going on friday or do you think it will be better to wait a little bit due to crowds and what not.

I've been to Vail a few times since the back bowls opened and they are looking good this year! ( Not as good as last year, but good regardless) Both Pete's and Earl's (chairlifts in blue sky) are open and running full blast. Just a friendly reminder though chair 39-Pete's closes at 2:15 so make sure you get your blue sky rides in early because if you wait until the end of the day the back side will already be closed!
