Hey Guys,
I am currently looking for a job that will get my foot into the snowboard industry. Can someone help me out with advice on what I can do? |

dont really have anything to help you with, but I thought it might be worth a mention to say that here in the "ask staff" section, the only ppl that can reply are staff or us experts....

I think much like the other thread, you need to mention WHAT SPHERE you're looking at. The industry is rather huge and includes everyone from pro riders to cleaners. Not that cleaners are the bottom rung of the ladder (my mums one)... theres probably plenty of interns out there too :)
But as DTJ said, staff dont really post in this section all that much now. Those are the people ACTUALLY in the industry (specifically in the retail side), but us expert members have (usually) non snowboard industry based careers. Id love to get a job. Id like to be some kind of dude that just thinks a lot about snowboarding but doesnt really like actually snowboarding. A trend spotter if you will that has no concept of fashion or trends. Basically i want to say i work in the industry at a non specific job but with the wages of a very high level position just on the off chance im actually correct about something at some time. I have no skills, no talents, no real motivation and drive, i detest snowboard culture (being that im a massive geek and most snowboarders strike me as jocks, or worse, well adjusted humans), i have no interest in tricks or who's pulling off the latest pirouette to wow the gasping ballet audience. All im good at is cataloging stuff and typing a lot about stuff i dont really understand. So when you figure it out, tell me so i can move to the US and amaze my best mate who always wanted me to dump japan and come live in the states. :) In a nutshell, no idea. Youd get a much better answer in the main forums where you have dudes in every sphere of the industry who can reply. :)
