8pm on FOX.

SF sending the Bum-gardener to the mound to shut down the opportunistic KC bats.  Wonder what a garden full of bums looks like?  Anywho, Big Game James Shield to take the mound for KC.

Both of my kids representing the Giants today. Baseball is the only sport where they don't like the same teams that I do. I guess we brought them to too many Giants games...

Game 1 of WS tonight. I'm still torn on who to root for but I'll go with KC as they haven't made an appearance since '85.

Giants win 6-3 with a walk-off 3-run HR. It'll be KC against SF for the WS. Now, I don't who to cheer for. SF is my kids' favorite baseball team, but I like KC's historic run. I guess I'll cheer for the Giants w/ my kids Tongue

Cards up 3-2 right now after 2 solo shots from Matt Adams and Tony Cruz.  Were these 2 guys even on the roster at the beginning of the season?  Adams look more like a lumberjack than a baseball player.

SF with Bumgarner on the mound today against Wainwright. It's going to be another close one.

^ No kidding! They are just unbeatable right now. Happy for KC fans to finally see their team get to the WS after 29 long years. I can only hope the same for my Jays.

And one notable stat. KC is 15-5 against NL teams this year. Go Royals!

KC is 1 win away from a trip to the World Series.  Keep rolling, Royals.

Giants take a 2-1 series lead with a 10 inning win over the Cards.

Really don't want to see the cards win another one this year. My Nats are now gone so I gotta show love to the O's. I see O's-Cards in the World Series with the O's winning in 6. Mark it!

Mattingly might not get another shot at a different team either.  Though he really turned the team around last year.

I agree. Mattingly will get the axe. Just couldn't get it done with the team he had. Too bad cuz nobody was really hitting besides Gonzo and Crawford in this series.

KC is definitely the team to root for.  Which is hard because I typically am rooting for the National League.  Boo St Louis.

And LA officially has no teams in it.  Tough luck for the dodgers, 2 runs on 8 hits, rather than 3 runs on 4.

Yeah, a full sample size might show that money does buy wins...just not championships.  Payroll isn't always the measure, since it counts for bad money.

Good job by the Tigers and Angels, with the 5th and 6th highest payrolls in the majors, they got the same number of playoffs wins as the Houston Astros with the lowest payroll. LOL

It's ok, because the Yankess, Phillies, and Red Sox did even worse with their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th highest payrolls. They didn't even make it to the post season. And the 8th highest payroll Rangers has the worse record in the AL, 3rd worst overall in the MLB. Shows that money don't buy wins.

Same could be said for the Tigers.  Detroit needs to clean house in the bullpen, get a CF and add some veteran bats to the bench.  Signing Scherzer won't happen, some big-money club will lure him away.  V-Mart is another free agent that may go to another team (reports say Cleveland is interested).  Torii Hunter may retire although the Tigers can do a lot worse than Torii in RF.

A lot to ask from pitching given the O's firepower but not impossible. Go Royals!

Wow, Royals and Orioles both sweep.  Giants on the verge of a sweep.

Meanwhile, LA and St. Louis are battling, each team  has a win (both games were decided by 1 run).

The playoffs are providing some entertaining baseball so far.  KC goes to Anaheim and wins both games in extra innings.  Baltimore is slugging their way through the Tigers.  Cards beat up Kershaw and the Dodgers (what was billed as a pitchers' dual was anything but, both Kershaw and Wainright were hit hard).  Peavy gives up 0 runs as the Giants beat Washington.

This is some good baseball.
