They never fill up the Jake anymore unless we're winning, which has been a tough prospect early in the season the last couple years.  Wish I could go more often, I had one trip to the Jake last year and saw them in KC as well !!!  First time I'd been back to our ballpark for a while, it was fun as hell

What's up with Cleveland not supporting it's team?  I read somewhere that attendance the past 2 seasons has been around 1 million fans, where they were drawing 3 million fans just a few years ago.

^ Wow, I didn't know I held so much power that I can actually stop a winning streak. Verlander hasn't been pitching well this season. 2-3 in 6 starts with a 6.49 ERA. He was probably a little too busy with Kate Upton over the off season Wink

Texas carried a 1 run lead from the 1st inning leadoff HR until the bottom of the 9th..then lost it in the 10th against the Blue Jays. Time for a new closer?

Way to go, lightning.  And that's why we never speak of a streak during a streak.

Verlander must be thinking about wedding plans instead of pitching (or thinking about Kate's puppies), he got lit up last night as the Tigers lose to the crappy Indians 7-3.

You think we're worried about Texass?  Hell's no.  Now that JV finally put a ring on Kate Upton's finger he can focus on pitching.

Zimmerman throws 6 shutout innings, Castellanos goes 3-4 with 4 RBI, Tigers win 7-4.  Good start to the season.

Cubbies beat the Reds yesterday to go 8-1, their best start since 1969.

Tigers beat the Pirates 7-3 yesterday powered by a grandslam from Saltalamcchia.  Shane Green gives up 2 runs in the first and shuts 'em down for the next 5 innings.

Minnesota and Atlanta both off to 0-7 starts while Baltimore is 7-0.

Tigers rebound and beat Pittsburgh 8-2 yesterday.  Upton goes 4-4 with a deep HR to CF.  Tigers' 1-5 hitters went 13-20, 8 runs, 8 RBI, 2 HR, 5 BB and just 2 K's.

^ Exactly (season is too long, owners and MLB will never cut back on games because they are greedy).  Baseball shouldn't start in early April or end of March (2011) and should not wrap up in November.  Way too long.

Verlander got roughed up last night.  And even before that happened the Pirates roughed him up, too.  *rimshot*  Kate Upton is a beast.  Anyhow, 7-4 loss to Pittsburgh last night was not a good start to the series.  And McCann was taken out of the game due to an ankle injury.

^ The baseball season is just too long. Starts too early (like snow in Detroit that you mentioned), and ends too late (winter weather at the end of the season and playoffs). Of course, teams will not want to cut down on the games because of the ticket/concession sales. So, we're stuck with what we have. Dead

Rangers have stumbled 3 in a row after opening the season with a win. The bullpen lost all 3 of those games. They need to turn that around...

^ Tigers will probably sign him in a few years, they always go after closers who are past their prime.

Tigers win 7-3 last night in Miami and come back to Detroit for the home opener tomorrow.  There's a chance on snow in the forecast - great baseball weather.  Dead

Rangers' closer Tolleson got lit up by the Mariners today. 5 hits, 5 earned runs, 1 HR, 0 outs. Blew a 5-4 lead and lost 9-5. He was already on the hot seat as the closer, he might have lost it with this showing.

A lot of excitement in the MLB last night.  Tigers new closer K-Rod blows a 3 run lead in the 9th but Detroit still manages to win in the 11th inning.  Rangers and Mariners managers yell at each other after the Mariners offense explodes in the 8th inning and the Rangers pitcher hits a batter (5th batter hit by a pitch in 2 games between these teams).  Rays win when the new slide rule comes into play and Jose Bautista is ruled to have interfered with the 2nd baseman who threw off target to 1B.

Rangers start the season with a 3-2 win over the Mariners. Cole Hamels looked solid except for 2 HRs. Yu Darvish should be ready by late May/early June. Hoping for another good season, and a deeper run in the post-season!

Read article on Kasten and he talked about long term plan...this year may not be the dodgers year but starting in 2017 I like their chances a lot...they will be a better team by season's end though...

Giants' rotation is pretty scary if Cueto works out: Mad Bum, Cueto, Jeff Samardzjia, Matt Cain, and Jake Peavy.

Dodgers said to be big losers of winter meetings...I think they will be just fine by the time the season starts but another division title is far from a certainly with the improvements to the Giants and Diamondbacks ...

A lot of surprising trades being made, Cubs get rid of Starlan Castro. Yeah he wasn't super hot during the year but he came alive in the post season and helped lead them over two division rivals. Fickle sport here...

It is a little strange the Dodgers would not pay Greinke for fear of his age 37 season and yet signed Iwakuma for his 35,36,37 season albeit at half the price...yet Greinke has a lot more value and Iwakuma has had injuries over last two years...

Rumor has it Dodgers will not resign Greinke and he will go to Gianys or Cubs...that would be a huge loss for them and they will have to significantly improve in other areas to be a better team next year.

Hoping the entire series is as crazy as last night's game.  That first pitch... inside the park home run when Yo-anus kicked the ball... the errors... the Met's closer failing to close out the game...  good times.

Royals win game 1 in 14 innings. Mets closer Familia couldn't close and ultimately lost the game with another strong outing from the Royals bullpen.

Tonight's game will also be a close one with deGrom going against Cueto.
