Read article on Kasten and he talked about long term plan...this year may not be the dodgers year but starting in 2017 I like their chances a lot...they will be a better team by season's end though...

Dodgers make another trade just not sure any of these trades are actually making them better...

Giants' rotation is pretty scary if Cueto works out: Mad Bum, Cueto, Jeff Samardzjia, Matt Cain, and Jake Peavy.

Giants are going to be tough again next year...Cueto seems a little risky with what was going on with his injury but Giants are much improved...

SF Giants got Cueto in a 6-year deal. David Price going to Boston, Grienke going to Arizona...amazing how rosters can change so quickly...

Dodgers said to be big losers of winter meetings...I think they will be just fine by the time the season starts but another division title is far from a certainly with the improvements to the Giants and Diamondbacks ...

A lot of surprising trades being made, Cubs get rid of Starlan Castro. Yeah he wasn't super hot during the year but he came alive in the post season and helped lead them over two division rivals. Fickle sport here...

It is a little strange the Dodgers would not pay Greinke for fear of his age 37 season and yet signed Iwakuma for his 35,36,37 season albeit at half the price...yet Greinke has a lot more value and Iwakuma has had injuries over last two years...

Rumor has it Dodgers will not resign Greinke and he will go to Gianys or Cubs...that would be a huge loss for them and they will have to significantly improve in other areas to be a better team next year.

Hoping the entire series is as crazy as last night's game.  That first pitch... inside the park home run when Yo-anus kicked the ball... the errors... the Met's closer failing to close out the game...  good times.

Royals win game 1 in 14 innings. Mets closer Familia couldn't close and ultimately lost the game with another strong outing from the Royals bullpen.

Tonight's game will also be a close one with deGrom going against Cueto.

Royals and Mets probably doesn't have the pizzaz MLB was hoping for but good to see the Royals have success in consecutive years and show small market teams can still survive...

It will be interesting to see how the great pitching does against the Royals lineup...

I think Cubs fans are feeling pretty good...the team was not expected to do this well and they are the most loaded young team in baseball.

Mattingly got the boot today... it was the right time to go a different direction.

We could have the teams for this year's World Series tonight. Mets lead the Cubs 3-0 while the Royals leads the Blue Jays 3-1. It's looking like a Mets/Royals World Series.

Both series are 2-0 right now with home teams leading. With the games going to the other stadiums this week, it'll be interesting to see if the losing teams can get some traction in their homes.

Bad timing for Arrieta to end his incredible run as he has now been hit in two straight.  Murphy continues his incredible post season.  Baseball is so crazy as one hot player can help propel you forward.  Murphy winning game 5 against the Dodgers and now doing it again against the Mets.

dodgers just choked that game away...horrible defense lapse to let Murphy take that bag and let Degrom off the hook so many times in those early innings...Mets deserve to move forward and have the better team in the end...

^ I agree 100%.  These "unwritten rules" in sports, especially baseball, are bullshit.  Stop trying to generic-ize (I made a new word) the game, let the players play and show some emotion.

I'm seeing all the uproar over Jose Bautista's "bat flip" after hitting a 3-run HR in the 7th inning. First, it's not a "bat flip". He threw the bat. And, before he threw the bat, he stood there and watched the ball. Both considered to be bad etiquette per baseball's unwritten rules. As a Rangers fan, I do not have a problem with that. It was a tied game in the bottom of the 7th, in a win-or-go-home game in the playoffs. And he just scored 3 runs with that hit. He has the right to be emotional, to be excited, to celebrate. Why should he act like nothing happened and just round the bases? Something did happen, and he's the one that did it. Sam Dyson, the pitcher that gave up that HR said that Bautista disrespected the game. I have to disagree. When you act like you don't care about the game, that's disrespect. Baustista showed that he cares about the game, that he loves the game, that his emotions are in the game. That, to me, is respecting the game. Bautista did not direct his celebration toward the Rangers dugout or the Rangers players on the field, or Dyson. He did not taunt the opposition. All he did was admire his work and threw down his bat...like Gronk spikes the ball after a TD. Nothing wrong with that. And I wish we can see more of these players show their emotions, instead of being criticized for it. But, the purists will criticize it, then turn around and complain how players are only playing for money and don't love the game. Well, if you want them to love the game, then you got to let them show you how much they love it. Just my 2 cents.

Blue Jays score 4 in the bottom of the 7th and beat Rangers 6-3 to move on to the ALCS. Disappointing for Rangers fans, but the season was better than expected and it'll only be better next season with Yu Darvish back Clap

Cardinals are out..

Rangers up 3-2 top of the 7th because Russel Martin's throw back to the mound hit Choo's bat and Odor ran in. Then fans started throwing things on the field...stay classy Canada...

Utley has been suspended for games 3 and 4 of the series.  As a Dodger fan I think it is an OK assessment.  This is the type of play that has not been punished in the past as far as I know so that would be the only bone of contention.  He was in play for the bag and actually started to attempt to touch it before the violent collision.  But in the end Utley should have started his slide before the bag and then it would have just been a great hard nosed play.

Another Kershaw start and another disappointing outcome.  He struck out 11 and left with 1 run in books and the bases loaded in the 7th with two outs.  Of course his teammates could not pick him up with the bats nor with the pen.  Reliever promptly came in and gave a two run single and that was that.

This is a must win today with Greinke.

^ They really shouldn't be booing their own team. It's not the batters' fault that Keuchel was painting the corners like a maestro. He's just that good. Tanaka wasn't bad either, but you can't expect to beat Keuchel when you allow 3 runs... With Keuchel pitching yesterday (and with only 3 days rest), he won't be available until mid-series against KC. McHugh will start Game 1. I don't think the Astros have a chance at beating the Royals in the ALDS.

Another wild card game today, Cubs and Pirates. With Arrieta pitching for the Cubs, it's going to be tough for Pittsburg to advance.

Low scoring game, indeed! Keuchel was on fire, and the bullpen made it look easy. Was awesome to hear all the Wanker fans booing their team after striking out. Go 'stros!
