Hard to question Billy considering he has kept the A's competitive so many times with one of the smallest payrolls, but must be tough as a fan for sure.

^ Correct, they trade away before having to pay a big contract but I read somewhere that they have traded 5 of 7 All Stars (wish I could find that article now...).  I understand they are not a big market team and cannot afford to pay the big contracts but you would think they would attempt to keep some of their core together.

SD is going trade-crazy, getting Matt Kemp, Justin Upton, Wil Myers without giving up too much.

I like some of the moves the White Sox are making - getting Melky Cabrera, Adam LaRoche, Jeff Samardzija, David Robertson.  Not so excited about Brad Penney.  The AL East is becoming a tough division.

What's Billy up to?  Trading away Derek Norris, Jeff Samardzija, Brandon Moss, Josh Donaldson... is this a new form of Billy-ball?  Trade away your All Stars?

Additionally I read he was not good for the clubhouse and his defensive metrics were some of the worst in the league

Cubs will be good but series :)

Dodgers continue to completely overhaul an already good team...risky in the sense that they better be better than last year...but I think they will be.

kendrick is a big upgrade over Gordon.

Kemp is a real loss but the catcher they got back can rake.  They will also be better defensively as a result of moving Puig to right and letting Joc play center.  Plus rollins makes them defensively a lot better and they add prospects...

Pumped we got Lester. Cubs are really heading in the right direction with all these smart moves.  Now I'm not getting ahead of myself, but how crazy would it be if they won the World Series this up coming season; Back to the Future II prediction would of been right! lol After signing Lester, vegas odds changed to 12-1 for Cubs winning it.

Lester is on the dodger's radar...would not surprise me if they landed him.  Orioles lose Markakis as well...they need outfield help at this point...the dodgers have like 7 of them..so

Really thought Markakis was one of those guys who was gonna be an oriole for good. Guess not. That's 2 big pieces to the O's lineup they just lost. Wonder who they're gonna go after as replacements.

^ From what I read the O's are not comfortable offering him a 4-year deal so he may sign with another team.

Torii Hunter goes back to Minnesota - where it all started for him 17 years ago.

So stoked after hearing about the trade! This makes a pretty awesome lineup with Reyes, Martin, Bautista, EE and now Donaldson. Assuming Milkman resigns, things are looking up for next season.

A little surprised that Hanley actually agreed to move to left...I thought 3rd would have been more likely but with Panda that is obviously not happening...glad to see Panda leave the giants....no more Panda bears and masks :)

Looks like Boston is back to throwing money around after finishing 5th in the al east. Apparently Cespedes is likely to be traded now that Hanley is gonna move to left.

AND THE PATERNITY TEST SAYS THAAAAT WAS A LIE!!

Anyway, yeah, Pablo and Hanley both going to Boston.  I think they have too many outfielders at this point.  Wonder who the giants will put at third next year, because if someone even says the words Joaquin Arias I'll lose my cool, haha.  Apparently they're going after Headley (they won't get him).  Hopefully we didn't piss off our other free agents who we put on hold to try to sign pablo (Peavy, Vogelsong, Romo, and I think we have one other free agent).  Not that I love Peavy or Vogey, but we need someone to start games next year other than Bumgarner.  People are talking about Giants signing Lester, I'll believe it when I see it.

True to their word Dodgers management looks two pare payroll this off-season as it fits in the long term plans to spend money early and then rely more on scscouting and farm system. And Rameriz will not be back and one of the four outfielders if not two will be gone

Jays sign the hometown boy Russell Martin for $82 million over 5 years. That's more money than Jose and EE. This guy better bring it. Now how bout a pitcher or two.

^ I'm just hoping that my Jays can change the look of this team with a winner. So many holes, not sure where to begin.

Victor Martinez appears to be off the market. Resigned with the Tigers for $68 million over 4 years. Tigers really know how to throw money around.

Congrats to the Giants on winning the WS. Bumgarner was just pitching on a whole different level. Had to admit that triple by Gordon/Blanco brain cramp really made things interesting. Respect to the Royals for coming out of nowhere and putting themselves back on the map. Awesome baseball to the end.

Bochy is a genius, but I don't think he'll want to put his ace out there too early.  I think the 6th or 7th is when we'll see bumgardner, but if they are behind by a couple runs in might be too late.  I know he isn't going to ride Hudson deep, because that is an unneeded risk.  He pulled Peavy out early, and so his bullpen through 108 pitches yesterday, so we aren't going to see him move to Bumgardner in the 3rd or anything.

I think this game is going to be decided in the first 5 innings.  And I think the Royals have the best pitcher for those first 5, so I am calling them the champs, unless the Giants just let the bats loose on Guthrie.
