True to their word Dodgers management looks two pair payroll this off-season as it fits in the long term plans to spend money early and then rely more on scscouting and farm system. And Rameriz will not be back and one of the four outfielders if not two will be gone

Jays sign the hometown boy Russell Martin for $82 million over 5 years. That's more money than Jose and EE. This guy better bring it. Now how bout a pitcher or two.

^ I'm just hoping that my Jays can change the look of this team with a winner. So many holes, not sure where to begin.

Victor Martinez appears to be off the market. Resigned with the Tigers for $68 million over 4 years. Tigers really know how to throw money around.

Panda said he'll forever be an SF Giants. Well we'll have to see how that plays out.

Jays looking to sign Panda. Would be nice to have a player on the team that knows how to win. Just hope it's not a ridiculous contract.

A lot of teams will regret not pursuing him. He would've looked pretty good in Dodgers blue though.

Lol I'm sure that team won't change overnight. But they now at least have a guy who knows what he's doing. If he can make Tampa competitive, he can do the same in Chitown.

Congrats to the Giants on winning the WS. Bumgarner was just pitching on a whole different level. Had to admit that triple by Gordon/Blanco brain cramp really made things interesting. Respect to the Royals for coming out of nowhere and putting themselves back on the map. Awesome baseball to the end.

hahaha...powerball is luck...predicting what a skipper will do is not...

Congrats to the Giants for winning 3rd in 5 years. Bumgarner is a beast...

Bochy is a genius, but I don't think he'll want to put his ace out there too early.  I think the 6th or 7th is when we'll see bumgardner, but if they are behind by a couple runs in might be too late.  I know he isn't going to ride Hudson deep, because that is an unneeded risk.  He pulled Peavy out early, and so his bullpen through 108 pitches yesterday, so we aren't going to see him move to Bumgardner in the 3rd or anything.

I think this game is going to be decided in the first 5 innings.  And I think the Royals have the best pitcher for those first 5, so I am calling them the champs, unless the Giants just let the bats loose on Guthrie.

The KC bats and Ventura came through with flying colors last night, pounding Peavy and the Giants in a 10-0 win.  Ventura wasn't sharp (5 walks) but only gave up 3 hits.

Game 7 pitching matchup:  old Tim Hudson for the Giants and Jeremy Guthrie for the Royals.

But, I think KC has a very good chance of pushing it to 7 games. With that bullpen, anything can happen.

Both great options. Mine would be the guy from Home Alone... Hunter Pence. lol

That's going to be tough considering Bumgarner is on the mound for SF today, dude is on fire right now.  My prediction:

SF   7
KC   1

Series will go back to KC with the Royals needing 2 wins at home to take the series.

^ I hear ya.  Similar is how a batter keeps looking back at the pitcher as he walks to the dugout after striking out and the pitcher faces any direction but the direction of that batter.  Why does the batter continue to look at the pitcher after getting K'd?  Why does the pitcher avoid eye contact after striking out a batter?

Strickland is a hot-head who has given up several HRs in the playoffs, I bet he pitched himself deep into the relief pitcher rotation now.

This is what I don't get, somebody hits a HR, the pitcher didn't like it...so it was almost a brawl? It's like, if a QB throws a pick 6, the QB doesn't like it, the sidelines clear? Or, Vince Carter blocks Dirk's dunk, and benches clear? I mean, really? It's just a HR. It's not like he did something that's outside of the game, like throwing the bat at the pitcher or something. So what if jogs a little slower, so what if he celebrates, so what if he looks at the pitcher? The dude just hit a HR in the WORLD SERIES! Let the guy enjoy it. As the pitcher, don't get pissed. Pitch better and you wouldn't have to watch the guy. It's just part of the game, what the big deal? Stupid unwritten rules in baseball...

^ KC responded in the bottom of the 1st.

Things got interesting in the 6th after Infante's bomb off Strickland - best summarized by this excerpt:  "And after tempers cooled and the detritus of an almost-brawl in the World Series cleared, everyone realized the entire scene mushroomed from the tired act that is Hunter Strickland getting a little sore after another meltdown and just wanting to fight."

Series should make for some good drama now, nothing like a little bad blood between teams to intensify the games.

That 1st inning was brutal for Shields and the Giants never looked back after that. I think KC will still make it an interesting serious though.
