Another solid outing by Greinke...so far he has been worth the money....very solid time in and time out.

Once Kershaw is back I expect they will start putting some distance between themselves and the Giants.

It was a good day for Dallas sports fans yesterday. Mavs beat Spurs in basketball, Stars beat Ducks in hockey, and the Rangers beat the A's in baseball. Clap

Cubs! Why, on wrigley's anniversary must you blow a 3-run lead to lose in the 9th?!

This is interesting.  What do you all think?  Should Pine Tar be legal?

Pineda gets 10 games for being stupid. What a joke! cuz that's only 2 starts for him. If the league wanted to really make a statement and truly enforce the game, it should be in terms of starts for pitchers. Kinda looks even worst the fact that it's a Yankees pitcher. Any other team, I don't think I would've cared as much.

Ugh... no. Sends the wrong message to the younger crowd that cheating would be ok if it was legal.

Hasn't baseball always been this way? As long as it's not blatant, look the other way? Same way it was for PEDs. Everybody knew people were juicing, but everybody looked the other way. The book on unspoken rules has always been thicker than the actual rule book. And I'm pretty sure the unspoken rules trump the written ones...

I think the current conversation about this topic though "that everyone does it and Pineda shouldn't have been so obvious" also sends the wrong message to the younger crowd.  In particular, you can break rules, but don't be obvious or rub it in peoples faces.

I think they should make the balls less slippery if that's the reason for the pine tar.

Matt Harrison pitched pretty well for the Rangers yesterday after a year off due to injury. Too bad the bullpen gave up the win in the 8th with a 3-run HR.

Now that the Avs are out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs it's time to turn my focus on the Rockies.  Rocks rip Mets pitching last night, 10-3.  Blackmon and Tulo combine for 6 hits, 5 RBI, 5 R.  I guess I haven't been paying attention much to baseball, I didn't know the Rockies are playing some solid ball and are 7-3 in their last 10.

Tulo (.385, 26 R) and Blackmon (.380, 26 R) are leading the MLB in BA, Runs.  Morneau is hitting a healthy .345.  Need to get Cuddyer healthy and into the lineup.

Not being able to watch Dodger games is getting really old! I heard it took two years for Yankees fans to get full coverage of games from the Yes network.  Can anyone verify this?

I should have stayed awake, Lyles pitched into the 9th, Tulo hit 2 HRs, Arenado extended his hitting streak to 25 games, Stubbs hits 2 doubles, Cargo hits 2 doubles... so many good things in last night's game.

Rockies pound out 21 hits while routing the Rangers 12-1 last night.  Arenado gets a double in his last at-bat to extend his hitting streak to 26 games.  Cargo gets 5 hits.  The 1-4 hitters combine to go 13-20 with 2 HRs and 7 RBIs.

Jays get the home and home sweep against the Philles. 28 runs scored off of Hamels, Lee and Burnett. Haven't seen Dickey's knuckleball that nasty since his Cy Young year. Time to keep it rolling against the Angels.
