Belleayre was great Saturday and especially Sunday, almost nobody there, a thin layer of new snow, plus they were blowing snow on Onteora and Wanatuska. Enough was drifting over to do a little riding in the glade. Still icy spots on main runs but plenty of decent stuff to ride on. Overall the best weekend so far. Forecast looks pretty good for this weekend: |

The emptiness part sounds good, but the forecast leading up to the weekend looks a little sketchy. Will have to see if I can round up a crew to go check it out... Thanks for the info!

It won't be empty this weekend, but the lines will be shorter than Hunter. If the big detachable lift (Superchief, Lift 6) is busy, try going over to Tomahawk. Forecast is looking better.

I have to say, I'm impressed! Decided to take the leap and got my little crew to bear down and follow through with a trip to Belleayre and it was wonderful! The conditions were nice, sun was out, not too crowded, parking was a snap, lift ticket cheaper than Hunter, scarfed lunch for $2, arrived at 930am, barely noticed the driving distance from NYC to and fro... everything was perfect!

Glad you liked it! I just got back. Sunday was one of the best days so far. The snow was soft and there was enough of it to go off the trail a bit. I'm taking the adult seasonal clinic program this year, we had double two hour sessions on Sunday, it was a blast. If you noticed a guy in a red jacket laying down C turns and dragging his knees on the snow, that was our instructor.
