Interesting video sent from a friend of a guy snowboarding in complete darkness with an illuminated LED body suit. Enjoy

That is a nice production.  I looked liked fun when he was on the groomed parts, but I would be too nervous to head into the trees with that as my only light.  I suppose it looked darker from the camera's point of view.  Maybe he had some solid moonlight.

I was really impressed by this also and the music makes the video so serene. I'd be a bit nervous being in the trees with little to no lighting.

Love the idea. I imagine it'd be pretty tough to ride in the dark while covered in bright lights. Great job!

he's lucky he didn't have a rock or something in his path, it seems like he couldn't really see anything in front of him.

It probably was not absolute darkness. To be able to shoot directly at a light source and not get just bloom you would have to have your exposure/Fnumber/ISO quite low which in turn would make everything that is dark super dark.

This is cool as hell. You would blind yourself if you glanced down at your own arm though. The article says the suit was finicky. You can see the whole back of the suit blip off and back on about 1/4 way into the vid.  Cool idea, really nice filming.
I'm just sayin'....

crazy stuff. he must have had some way to see through those trees. The site says that he was filmed from a snowmobile, that must have been lighting the way for him.

kind of curious to what type of battery he is using and how hot it gets ,thats one way to get everyone's attention at the hill one of the coolest things i've seen & i thought a glowstick would be enough for night shredding.

Very cool, the glow through the powder he kicks up is an awesome effect. I would have liked to have seen what it looked like from the rider's perspective, but that might have ruined the video.

Very cool. When you see some of the lines he takes through the trees, I'm guessing that it wasn't as dark out as the video makes it look. I don't think that he could make those turns if the only source of light was a big glow right in front of his eyes. I'm sure camera and video adjustments increased the contrast.

I doubt that he had to wear much of a battery. LED's really don't use much power. If it was an older style of bulb, this would have been a lot more difficult to do. That whole suit might only take about as much power as two regular incandescent bulbs in your house.

Anyway, blah, blah, sweet video.

you can use a portable battery pack. tron2 was shot in 10-15min intervals when they had the lights on.
