Don't know about NJ, Belleayre was great Saturday and Sunday morning, but got really wet on the flatter spots Sunday afternoon. The steeper trails will probably be fine for a while, but near the lift it will be like a Slurpee with 60 degree days all week. Should be a good week to do bumps.

I was thinking of heading up to Gore, it's colder at night, but still too warm during the day: |

VT, NH, ME should still be going, but you won't find anything worthwhile further south.

Yeah, this 2 week stretch of extremely warm weather is going to cause a lot of melt down. I am hoping that Sugarloaf still hangs onto some snow until mid April.

I'm hoping to go to Jay Peak April 9. My son fractured his wrist early in the season, hopefully the cast will come off and he'll have clearance to go snowboarding. Has anybody been there recently? Pics on the website look good.

Went to Sunday River today and the conditions were great. They have 58 open trails, mostly Blue and Greens with about 6 Black Diamonds. Their recent snowmaking plus a little bit of natural snow has brought back the open trails from last weeks meltdown. They must have the best open terrain in the East. SR is in much better shape than Loon and many today said that Sugarloaf is getting pretty bare.

Do you think Sunday River would be better than Jay?

We usually like to go to Jay and Sugarloaf this time of year as they typically have the best terrain open at this point. However, with the lack of natural snowfall this year, both jay and Sugarloaf have very little terrain open (both less than 20 trails). The Tram is closed at Jay so that shuts off some of the best trails. I haven't been to Jay recently, but with 58 trails open at SR vs 15 ish at Jay, no Tram, and no glades; I would say to go SR. Watch the weather though, I haven't given up on a large April snowstorm for Jay or SL.
