    Posted: Mar/14/2012 at 9:30am
Hey everyone,

So I need some help matching my snowboard with my pants and jacket. Currently I have a Sierra Reverse Crew and a pair of black Burton snowboard pants. I currently have a bright red jacket which throws off the whole color scheme.

Here is a picture of the board

So I was thinking maybe a sky blue jacket would go well with the board and pants?

What do you guys think. I know its sort of a dumb question to ask but I feel like I look strange with a red jacket. I know it shouldn't matter and I should just focus on riding but I would just like to have some imput.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Seriously?  Who cares if your board, jacket and pants do not match?  Or should I say they do not "coordinate"?

Whatever Ctoma, we all know you're throwing away your gogs in your profile gif because you're upset they don't match.

And if TS isn't the appropriate place for questions like this, really, then what is ???

I see we wear the same size jacket. Give me your old one since it's "useless."

I got Blue FourSquare Qs and they would look great with this board. Or a blue jacket and keep you black pants.

Go blue for top and white for the bottom so you'll look like a smurf

Nah go for some purple pants and you can stick with your red top. .or get a black top w/ some blue highlights.. the purple will bring out the stripes in the board.. you won't see the bottom of the blue board much unless you're doing a lotta jumps.. and I guess sitting on the lifts.

why you wanna get rid of your red jacket anyway? can't be that bad. maybe a colour that matches your bindings?

edit: my old blue jacket would have totally matched the blue on the underside.. check profile pic <~~

wrong.  Red matches perfectly with blue...in fact, it's just one shade off from being blue's complimentary color.  Black is neutral (not even a "color") and goes with everything. You're good to go...so go!

^^^ Agreed matching outfits are pretty lame though I also maintain its not how good you ride its how good you look. Personally I say find something wild so people know who you are

a whole thread just for a fashion critique to match with your snowboard, blue or purple top would be appropriate if you're into the whole color scheme. I would rather go for stripes and plaid in bright obnoxious colors to be visible to other riders plus it stands out more on blue bird days just my 2 cents.

FORGET MATCHING colors! I agree with scuddera... STAND OUT... don't match... It makes you WAY more easy to spot on the hill... that way, when you do something cool, your girlfriend (or Mom) will see it and be so proud! Difference is... girlfriend will make out with you and pinch your butt... Mom will buy you ice cream on the way home... Hmm, I do like ice cream. Yeah, it's a hard choice on who to bring.

I rock some red pants... currently looking for an orange jacket... I haven't seen anyone rock that combo and I JUST GOTTA BE ME!

I have a Sierra V-spot in pink and a red jacket.  I have a pair of herringbone patterned pants.  I originally thought about getting a new jacket because red and pink, HIDEOUS!!!

But then I thought for just ONE second... Everything goes with the pink, especially when you can see the V-Spot.

Matching is AWSM.  I have the matching pants for this jacket and, like I said, it's AWSM.  I officially suggest the same combo for the OP to match his reverse crew.  And if you get it let's ride together too.

meh, i wouldn't worry too much about jackets and stuff matching board. I think it's cool to have a nice looking outfit or w.e. but the board is kind of a separate entity i think.

People don't wear jackets anymore.  Everyone is going for the tight one-piece.  Solid colors only, though.  You can just thank me later.

MOST people TRY to match... try to look like all their clothes cost a lot and match perfectly... I say screw that... DON'T match... it is a fact that you WILL BE easier to find on the hill by your friends or ANYONE for that matter... as I said, most people don't do this.

i agree with punkphil.  SCREW MATCHING!   I've accidentally matched (or come close) but would never pick gear based on if it matched my setup.  That sounds like something you do if you've got a sponsor (corporate or mommy/daddy).   Snowboarding is about riding, if you worry aobut fashions sake I think you're missing the point of it all.

There was  company making shirts back in the 90's that I liked.
They simply said (i try too hard) Phashion"

Perhaps it is NSFW, although I generally have the unofficial website up all day long here.  Honestly I can't believe that Lange uses those ads but I guess it's in the same vein as the Reef advertisements back in the day

yea but i like solid colors with a flashy piece of gear. Like solid jacket with plaid pants. I don't worry about the colors too much but like too much plaid or something would look stupid i think.

I am amazed that people have enough disposable money to throw at matching setups.  I guess I do too if I wanted, but it doesn't make sense AT... ALL....  If I find a combination that makes me feel warm, comfortable and fairly stylish (yes I care a bit), then I'm going to stick with it no matter what I've got on my feet.
I have black boots, white bindings, and a V-spot board.  I have a pair of brown pants and red jacket.  It works for me, I'm warm, I'm good.

no, just because there are so many people wearing it that it's almost as bad as people wearing black on black.

As for matching outfits, I think I bought the pants here for $30 on clearance, and found the matching jacket a few months later for $50. :)

I always like to get a jacket that matches the the ones that the workers wear. they usually don't give you a hard time about your speeds and stuff if they think you are one of them. also, if you are using the 151 reverse crew and you are female. why not try some light blue or purple? maybe even some flanel that is blue / purple.
