The Niners are the ones getting compliments from around the league that they play football the way it's supposed to be played. The Lions are the ones embroiled in off field troubles when it's still MAY.
Respect gets respect.

Yeah, I respect how clean the 49ers are... wait a minute, 2012 hasn't been an entirely good year thus far for the niners... McDonald gets pulled over for a traffic violation and what? An outstanding warrant for a DUI? Noooo, he's a 49er, they don't get arrested. Aldon Smith arrested for DUI? Noooo, he's a 49er, they don't get arrested. Bogan arrested for assault? I guess he doesn't count since he spent 2011 on injured reserve.
Yeah, no off-field problems for the niners...

Bogan wasn't on the Niners when he was arrested. He was cut before he got in trouble in Arizona. Nice try though.
I'm sure Aldon and Ray got ripped a new one by Harbaugh and the rest of the team, no doubt about that. I can't say the same for Fairley considering he's gotten in trouble twice this year already. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. And like I said earlier, he had issues coming into the draft last year already, which is why he fell to #13.
I respect Detroit, and I think it's great that they're back to national relevance. Stafford is a class act, especially with what he did a week or so ago by buying that kid tickets to the MNF against the Bears. And how can you not like Megatron?
But that organization is turning into the Bengals: Part 2, and if you can't see that, then nothing I say will change your opinion. I'll do you a favor and won't bring up Suh's antics on the field. And like I said, it all starts from the top with the head coach.

I am. Goodell is grooming me to succeed him.
I just got back from Concussions and Public Theory 102: How to Turn the NFL into a 7v7 Passing League.
Interesting class.

Screw succeeding Goodell, if you really want to do some good have Bettman knocked off and succeed him. The NHL can use an amicable, harmonious person like you.

Eh, it could be much worse. They do have some decent story lines that are going on.
It could've been the Jaguars or Buccaneers or something.
and ctoma, I took your advice and sent my resume off to Bettman, I also sent a copy off to David Stern.

Now it turns out the Saints had a ledger with a running tally of money earned for "cart-offs" and "whacks." Seriously people, never write down anything incriminating.

^ Yeah I saw that. I think it is his 2nd in the last three years. Maybe a Hard Knocks with the Jags wouldn't be so boring after all.

I personally can't wait for the return of Hard Knocks. Reggie Bush will put on a show and the D has some outspoken characters. The QB battle will make for some awesome viewing

I've gotten enough bullshit arguments and insults thrown at me reffing social leagues, I'll pass thank you. I just hope they work something out so the professionals are out there when the regular season starts.

what's the etiquette for the refs getting players' autographs? before the game or after the game? not sure if they'll give the refs autographs after the game if they made a bad call on them...but getting autographs before the game seems kind of faux pas?

I would presume its silently shunned. Youd think if they got the autograph before the game that they might have some sort of favortism, or if they're looking to get a John Hancock after the game.. that they still might favor a player so they're not all pissed. hm...

Hard Knocks should focus on this instead of the actual Dolphins team.
I bet they'd get higher ratings.

^Speaking of, Ochocinco gets cut by the Pats and now has a tryout with the Dolphins. How much of a factor do you think Hard Knocks played in THAT decision.

Eh, maybe. The Dolphins have no receivers at all, so bringing in Ocho for a tryout makes sense. Also, he's from the area, so I'm sure he'd like to play near his hometown.
But, Hard Knocks probably gets a little more entertaining if Ocho is in it. I'd still much rather see them dedicate the entire series to the Dolphins' cheerleaders, but hey, that's just me.

He could barely get on the field for the Patriots. The Dolphins receiving core is pretty much the opposite so he chose the right team. Hard Knocks + terrible WR core = perfect OchoCinco location.

He'll definitely have his chances to prove himself in Miami. Though that will also depend on Tannehill performing well, so there's a couple variables that could make em an interesting team to watch... or a disaster, again.

He'll have a chance to prove himself but he won't. He's more worried about his Twitter account than he is his playbock.

Chad is old but I kind of have a feeling that he's going to have a pretty productive season if he gets a chance to play somewhere. I feel like he's still in pretty good shape and after hearing everyone say maybe his career is over he might refocus his energy on being a good receiver. He knows if he has another unproductive season it could mean the end of his career. I say he does all he can to be at least semi productive. Which means a productive year less he gets injured...

I'm a fan but I can see why teams might shy away from him. He is kind of a loud mouth. I mean he does have his own tv show and he seems to draw more attention to himself than most people would like. He pretty much solicits the media. I think it's entertaining but since he's production has gone down everyone seems to be blaming him for not being focused on playing ball. Which may or may not be true.

I like Chad, I hope for his reputation's sake at least he posts reasonable numbers. I'd say he'd be happy with 800 yards and 6-7 TD's

Hee wont even get half those yards. I think he didn't even had 300 yards last year.

New England's system is all based on pre snap reads, reacting to the defense, and then having the receiver and Brady on the same level when/where the ball is thrown.
From what I've read, Ocho has all the physical tools, but he lacks the football IQ. Especially in an offense like New England's, if you can't pick it up, you're pretty much useless. I think they picked him up to replace Moss' deep threat ability, but Ocho isn't that type of receiver. I read some quotes that stated when he was with the Bengals, he would run routes all over the place, even with his coaches and QB telling him what route to run.
I think he still has game, but it's whether Philbin can merge him with whatever offense they're building in Miami. I don't think Tannehill starts, at least at first. If he can build a decent rapport with Moore or Garrard, I think he'll have decent numbers. Not Pro Bowl numbers, but he should help out a rebuilding Dolphins team.

Chad Johnson is the George Lopez of the NFL. His jokes are all premise with no punchline... Chad races a horse... Chad tried out for a soccer team... Chad got his Starbucks card stolen... Chad lived with a fan for a week. None of this crap turned out to be funny, just some nonsense he tweeted to bring some attention on himself.

Considering marshall has gone, and if Henne is tossing it around like he was earlier last season I think anything is possible.

Uh, Henne is a Jaguar now.
It's Moore, Garrard, or Tannehill who will be under center for the Dolphins this season.

Sorry you're right. Well Chad moore is surely capable of flinging it, though I did like Henne a lot more. Here's hoping for Miami that reggie bush can stay healthy........ otherwise they;re in a spot of trouble.
