Well yea, it'd be life threatening if someone hit his rib the wrong way.  Doesn't sound like it would take a 300 lb guy to do it though.

In browsing the interwebs regarding NFL content, i came across THIS STORY, which is about legendary punter Ray Guy, and his not having reached the NFL HOF. The article is long, but the first few paragraphs get the point across. It's essentially that he was the best at what he did, but the HOF voters regard WHAT he did as inadequate for HOF positioning. Guy never had one of his punts returned for a TD, and equally impressive is the entire concept of hang-time was based on his performance. It's a stat we use now with every punt, its really sad that he gets snubbed because a punter is "just a punter". Essentially the same argument DHs have with the MLB HOF.

I'm not sure I'd even pay $9 to watch the Chiefs.  They are hardly worth the price of gas to get to the stadium.

They were two former CFL players from the 50's raising money for charity i believe. Anyways, there was bad blood between the two and neither one would let it go after 50+ years. So when they were up there together after all those years, I guess Joe Kapp, tried to offer a truce by dangling a little flower of some sort in his face. Mosca (the dude with the cane) took it as a condescending gesture and gave Kapp a closeup view of his cane. I think it knocked his glasses off. And you know the rest.

So you're saying stick with the same bet? The Eagles are terrible by all definitions lol.. though the backup QB might just be an improvement! And the Redskins are on a 3-game skid of their own. Who wants to lose less?!

I'll take the skins for that game, Garcon looks like he might finally play again too.
He and Rg3 had built some good chemistry and it showed in Rg3's first nfl passing td.

Skins are past due for a win against the eagles.
However, something tells me nick foles is the real deal.

In my opinion I think Nick Foles will struggle.  I think Andy Reid would have put him in before if he though he were better than Vick.  Reid never had a problem with benching McNabb so I don't know why he would with Vick.  His job is on the line, he's going to go with whichever QB is better and he must see something in Foles that is holding him back.

Reid has impaired judgment.
He traded Kolb, when he should of traded Vick.

I love watching Phillip Rivers struggle.  He is the most overated QB in the NFL.

3 OT games in the first half of the day. NFL redzone was awesome for that. I really wanted the jags to pull off the upset haha. But that screen was a great playcall by the Texans. I also wanted arizona to beat the falcons but oh well

Redzone is money, especially for following fantasy.

Are the Eagles going to fire Reid yet? How much worse can they get?

eagles are not bad because of andy reid they have all the talent in the world the "dreamteam" isnt so dreamy. They just dont play well as a team. I think this year is between the packers, patriots, falcons, and the texans.

The Steelers need Big Ben back if they are going to make the playoffs.  Leftwhich isn't going to win them any games.

i don't know if reid is the one that calls the plays..but, if he is, he should be canned...you can't make your rookie qb throw THAT many times in his 1st game! especially when the o-line can't protect him...

5 INTs, 0 TD passes, and a win! First time ever!

And yes, Gronkowski did break his arm. Leave it to Belicheat to run up 60 points on someone and STILL leave the starters in to be injured. Idiot.

Right?Watch any GOOD team, and if you see a backup/rookie QB in, you can bet on seeing 30% more run plays called. And How can you argue that they have "all the talent in the world" but lose for a reason OTHER than the coaching? Pretty sure there's a number of Cowboys fans that can attest for this.

Sorry... im turning this post into an essay.. but forgot to add:  Alex Smith is ruled out for tonight's game. This makes tonight's game IMMENSELY more interesting, with both starting QBs out.

I think he had already pulled Gronk out of the game, but he was in blocking for an extra point when he broke his arm.

And yeah, if a team has a bunch of talent but plays poorly, I think the responsibility lies with the coaching staff.  It's not like it's an anomaly this season, he's been a terrible coach for years.

MNF. Battle of the backup QBs. I think the bears are better on Defense, but their O-line will struggle to protect Campbell. And its hard to run vs the 9ers. I can't predict turnovers but I'm guessing the 9ers squeak by the bears in a close, low scoring game.

One thing I don't like about Kaepernick is how he holds the ball when he runs. He needs to secure it better.

Time for Bears to redeem themselves on MNF! The way I look at it is, we had a better chance at beating the 9ers then the Texans. And since that game against the Texans was pretty damn close, I think we go into San Fran and leave with a Win.  My only prediction is 1 peanut punch for a fumble and 1 interception by Jennings.

his ball handling ability is suspect and the weak link in our offense :/, which kinda scares me when he makes a run into 8 guys...he'll probably shake half of them but still...

other than that, he definitely has the throwing arm going for him, the JET PACK, and all that's left is to see if he's good "under the gun pressure" and reading abilities

Better than cutler?? Cambell is a decent backup especially considering he has been a starter for most of his career but cutler is not a bad quarterback. Granted he hasnt lived up to what his potential warrants but cutler is a mid level nfl qb with a good arm

Agreed. Everytime he runs, all I say is "don't fumble don't fumble". I hpoe he can settle in quick cuz when he got in last week, he looked shaky. He was overthrowing passes and just staring down his receivers. just hoping for the best!

One nice thing about everyone talking crap about a QB (Smith)... if he goes down, his replacement can't be that bad LOL

Looks like the Bears don't stack up against big physical teams.

yeah, CK's aite

the thing is, people underestimate the niners because they don't know them...as far as i'm concerned, we have TWO STARTING quarterbacks and the way we've been using them so far has been nothing short of fantastic (except for that NYG game, that was pretty weak)
say hello to our "other" starting qb Smile

on another note...man, we're supposed to play the best D in the league...what's happening?

My goodness, the 49ers defense woke up after its pitiful showing last week. Bad news is the media is already trying to stir up a QB controversy when there isn't one yet.

yup...the media loves to hate on alex smith, who already shows himself to be a competent QB, leading us to a 6-2-1 record...that and...
we're already 10games in, switching QBs this late in the season would probably be post-season suicide...this isn't a conversation or talking point to be had this season, MAYBE next season but right now...hell no.

It's hilarious how bad the bears really are! They can only compete with teams with losing records & lose to every 'real' nfl football team that they come up against. Luckily for the bears that easy schedule of theirs always makes them look like a team that they are not.

So I was wrong about the game being close, but I was right about the bears o-line. Campbell is gonna be sore this morning. And I was kinda right about it being low scoring. Bears only scored 7, but I guess the Niners had a better idea.
is it just me? or is common sense not that common.

Agreed. It was a $hit show last night. Da bears needed some serious help now. I throw up in my mouth a little thinking cutler actually helped that team but he apparently did. GO PACKERS!!!! haha
