I will never bet on another Giants game again. It was a tough week of picks. So far tied for second place at 11-4 with Jets/Titans game to go.

nice, simple statement, with nothing to back it up. of course, you're wrong. hope you don't bet on games...

on the kaepernick discussion...i think he deserves to start. alex smith was always thought of just a game manager, not a game winner, and he was great at it. but, once kaepernick stepped on the field and did the things that he did, it was obvious that he was better than smith and gives the niners a better chance at winning, both in the reg season, and post season. sure, loyalty to a player is great. but, the nfl is a win-now league. whoever gives a better chance of winning games gets to play now. smith didn't do anything to lose his job, but kapernick did everything to win the job. and i don't think smith is going to be a good qb somewhere else either. he's only been good under harbough, and was bad under everyone else.

I hope that the Jets lose tonight so I can quit hearing talk of their chances of making the playoffs.

the last play of the game tonight, where sanchez mishandled the low snap as he was awkwardly falling on his heels, was honestly one of the sorriest ways ive seen a game end-considering the jets had a chance after that scuffed punt by the titans.

I know they don't have the worst record, but the jets played like the worst team in the NFL. No effort makes me think players don't want to play for Rex
is it just me? or is common sense not that common.

I agree. I don't claim to be a Tebow fan but the guy does know how to win and I think he should have been given a chance.

With the Jets out of the playoff hunt they should have started Tebow next week to see what they have in him.  Why trade for him and give up draft picks and never give him an opportunity?

Agreed =/ it sucks that we won't see Tebow start. They've gone this far without him starting...even with McElroy playing a TERRIBLE game next week they'd probably still give him more than 1 week as a starter

But if they do decide to trade him...I say they trade Tebow to Jacksonville!!! Tebow + MJD run all day! I wouldn't say I'm a Tebow fan either, but that was be CRAZY FUN to watch

Personal opinion here, but I followed Tebow pretty closely in Denver. Once Denver realized Orton wasn't the answer, there was some pretty strong rumors coming out of Denver that they put Tebow in just to show the  fans how bad he actually was so they could move on from him at the end of the season. Denver just got lucky because Peyton freakin Manning signed with them, and who wouldn't say OK that was good move.

According to "unnamed sources" from Denver and Florida he practices terribly, and somehow he turns it on for games. I'm sure the Jets are seeing the same thing in practice, and have no faith in him for games.

Agreed as well. It's not like the Jets could really get any worse, regardless of who's behind center. They're out of the playoff race, so may as well experiment with the rest of the games, try to figure out something that works (and maybe play dream crusher against some folks in the process). Given, that could turn into a total disaster and very well put Ryan's job on the line.. but I would imagine the folks upstairs might already be having some talks.

Adrian Peterson is a beast, can't believe hes come back from knee surgery so quickly and just as good. So many players careers have ended from the same thing, if he beats Dickersons record IMO he should be the MVP regardless if the Viking make the playoffs.

Andrew Luck should be in the MVP talks...he took that worst team in the nfl and made it into a potential playoffs team. That's the biggest impact on a team from any single player...

Come on now.  His stats are 20 TD's to 18 int's with 54% completion rate.  He's good but not MVP good.  The Colts added more than just Andrew Luck this year.  Compared to a player like Peyton Manning he's not even close.  Peyton's Stats 31 TD's, 10 Int's 68% completion rate.

Don't worry, this next draft you'll have a chance a any QB you want coming out of college.  Unfortunately Pioli isn't the best draft day executive.

Fair argument! Luck has certainly been an improvement over whatever they were doing last year, and it's really not all that bad of a rookie season. The Colts should continue to improve. But what Manning has done with the Bronco's (now balanced) offense is quite stellar as well. Given, Tebow time made last seasons' 4th quarters always fun to watch. But the short/long pass game under Manning has really turned this team into a late-round contender.

I'm not talking about just stats by themselves, I'm talking about how much of an effect a single player has on his team; aka how "valuable" they are to the team. The Broncos were already a playoffs team with Tebow, Peyton made them better, but not turn 180.

it's hard to say luck is an MVP candidate when it's clear to everyone around the league the colts 'sucked for luck'

also thats what the Rookie of the Year award is for. The only 2 players realistically in the hunt for MVP is AD and Peyton. Brady is in the mix too. If the Vikes make the playoffs and he breaks the rushing record I can see AD winning it, otherwise it's Peytons.

im going with AP for MVP of the league this year, but only if the vikes make the playoffs.
if not then my vote goes to Peyton. while there is an argument that denver was a playoff team last year, we all knew they were not gonna come close to the superbowl while this year they are a very serious contender... due to peyton's mentality and work ethic. you see how he is on the sidelines after every series (even after a TD). he is constantly teaching/talking to his squad, expecting them and making them better players.

Agreed that AD should definitely be in the talks.

But speaking of the record hes still 293 away from tying it and 294 to break it. I mean....with 2 games left? That is going to be a pretty big challenge especially with Houston being the next game, only if he had someone like Oakland or KC. But yea, if he gets 100+ vs Houston, I can see the coaching staff just running him all day vs GB until he gets it.

294 yards isn't out of the question at all if you've watched him play this season... He's on an 8 game 100+ yard rushing streak, 6 of those over 150 and 2 over 200. He's definitely capable of breaking that record.

Yep, agree with this.
Think ADP has to break the rushing record and the Vikes making the play offs for him to get the MVP award. Or else, he will definitely get the come back player of the year award.
MVP award voting is too favored towards QB's that it is too hard for anybody else to win it.
And since Peyton's stats are great and is leading the Broncos to a playoffs and maybe the super bowl, he is more likely to win the MVP.

It really shouldn't come down to whether or not Peterson breaks the rushing mark to determine if he wins the MVP or not but I think it will. Otherwise I'm going with Peyton for MVP and broncos to win it all

You could have replaced Curtis Painter with Kyle Orton last year and the Colts would have won six games.  Curtis Painter looked like a Junior High backup QB last year.  It's not all Andrew Luck winning this games this year.

That'd be awesome to see him break the record especially since coming back from ACL and MCL injuries and with all the question marks regarding how he'll do this season. Anyone who has him on his FF team must feel like they struck gold.

Nicely stated.

This should be a hell of a game. 9ers are gonna be lookin to still prove they're the team to beat in the NFC West, but holy cow the Seahawks have been KILLING it lately. Averaging 54 PPG and giving up only 8.5 ppg. INSANE. I'll definitely be by my tv for this one :D

Im hearing sanchez and flynn from the seahawks could be traded-which would be a hillarious trade of the two priciest backup caliber quarterbacks ever. That way sanchez could be a backup and play for his college coach

All this talk about ADP completely buried the fact that Calvin Johnson can also break the receiving yards record.
Sucks that he doesn't have a bunch of TD's but props to CJ for all them yards.
