Agreed, I retired a two time defending champion.  Haven't won the entire thing, and most importantly lost a dollar in the 4 seasons since.  This will be my first season not making the playoffs though Cry

I like them if only because it makes people care a bit more and you get less flaky owners. Plus you have a reason yourself to care more. The highest entry fee I've ever paid was $50 so it's not like it's breaking the bank and it's fun to get paid when you win.

I'm for expanding playoffs in this free league, even though I've been pretty damn lucky thus far to be 4-1 and sitting pretty nice.
The last pay league I did was a $150 entry fee and I stressed about it the entire season.  I did end up winning and getting a whole new snowboarding setup, but I don't think the stress over it was worth it.  I would do a pay league again, but I wouldn't throw down more than $25 on the entry fee.

i am doing this free one, a $20 league with some hs friends and colleagues, and a $100 one with buddies from home.  With the increasing entry rates, the shit talking goes WAY up. :)

What are your guys thoughts on:  Flacco or Romo this week.  Shitty choice I know, but I don't have anyone that I'm comfortable dropping onto the waiver wire to pick up a matchup QB

I'd go with Flacco, the Raven's offense looked bad last week but I'd say he's a more reliable QB than Romo is.

^ Youch, that's a toughie.  I would go with Flacco.  Romo is going to shit his pants after getting leveled by Ray "Convict" Lewis and will miss at least 1 quarter.

Not surprisingly, no love for Romo. None here either. I picked up Flacco in another league that I have Brees on a bye. Romo wasn't available, but I would have picked Flacco anyway. FWIW, there's probably three other waiver wire QBs I'd take instead of Romo.

I'm pretty conservative, so I wouldn't start DHB unless I was desparate. I wouldn't even pick him up unless my WRs were weak. I'm in the bay area and have a pretty grim take on the Raiders; they haven't really show anything so far this season. We knew it was going to have to be a rebuilding year going in, so it's not a surprise. Even next year is going to be tough.

Pitta really fell off after those first few weeks.  RB are always a premium, especially with how many have gone down injured this year.  Unless you are starting someone like Alex Smith at QB no way I make that trade.

not sure if andrew luck is an upgrade for romo...and you'd have to lose peterson. i'd keep romo and peterson and hope romo turns his year around...

Or if you have room on your bench snag ponder and you can play him on matchup games.

palmer should put up decent fantasy numbers.  cassel's hurt, sanchez blows, and cutler can always blows up, but you just never know in which direction.

Kolb should put up good numbers too. Cutler is definitely a gamble, but I'd play him over Romo. And Palmer should be slinging it around trying to keep up with Atlanta, so there's three I'd pay over Romo. Take that with a grain of salt tho because I just don't belive in Romo.

What is this "won" you speak of.  Even with Rodgers throwing for 6 TD that word is not in my team's vocabulary.

I'm fine with a $20 buy in league.  i agree it would keep the flakes out, and make things a bit more competitive.

i think the question was whether we should expand the playoffs pool..not about making it into a money league?

Yea, I'd be 6th if it was for points scored, but I think last season I had one of the lowest points against so it all evens out.

Also, I am down for a $20 league next year, but I vote 10 teams and NO KICKERS!!!

So I'd be up for a $20 league next year too, if you let me in ;). But I was thinking pooling the money together and buying a TS gift card given to the winner, thats what I was thinkin last year anyway.

I was thinking we could add a second flex instead.  Kickers are just so random.  I know that most likely wont happen but I'll be damned if I don't at least suggest it LOL

only thing I think I would do is have a W/T flex as tight ends are getting insane these days.

I wasn't really looking to turn this into a pay league (I'm already in three others), but I guess we can worry about that next year.

But Zakk, why are you opposed to increasing the number of playoff teams?

I've got a WR/Flex problem for you guys.

I need one WR, and a WR/RB.  As of now I'm starting Britt as WR, and have LeShoure as my Flex (not looking good against daa bears).

Mike Williams is on the FA list and has a good matchup this week, and has been putting up decent numbers.  Think it's worth dropping Malcolm Floyd, who has put up reasonable numbers for a few games, but is on bye this week, and picking up Williams?

League is 0.5 ppr, 0.25 point per carry.

Yea, TB Williams.

Haha I noticed that.  I dunno who the hell picked me to win, cause if we've learned anything so far, it's that you pick against my team.

^ Battle for last place supremacy?  I wish you both good luck.

Looks like I am facing the abandoned Sea Shepherds, this may be a chance for my team to break it's 3 game losing streak.  Than again...

I have 0.0% of making the playoffs but I am staying active just to make sure I don't screw it for everyone else who is still playing to win.  Plus lets face it, my team is an easy win regardless of what I do.Cry

Non TruSnow member I believe.

(Tim Tebow, QB/RB)? haha.  Would be an interesting RB starter cause he's always got a chance to throw.

Damn, looks like I was too worried about my money leagues this week and slacked on setting my lineup. I was hoping Locker would be back by this week, and I missed out of picking up Fitz... this could be ugly with my QB options...

I was just looking at the league info, Damn B-Deeper, you have really gotten lucky with the matchups.

Check out the points against differential between the top 4 teams and the bottom 3.  Points for and points against are the last two columns.

1. DCC 6-0-0 1.000    699.75    630.30
2. B Deeper 5-1-0 .833    647.70    592.25
3. D'Kings 4-2-0 .667    770.60    637.25
4. lightning80 4-2-0 .667    763.55    661.55

10. jjfreak 2-4-0 .333    612.50   764.35
11. Duffmans Destroyers 1-5-0 .167    688.25   762.05
12. Sintexo 1-5-0 .167    621.25   755.65

Better watch out... Sea Shepards team beat me even without a kicker last week. Is that team really abandonded?
No Sig... I'm just not that witty or creative
