i think that it is a very nice site... i noticed that they have forums as well... betcha doug is involved in that... The boards are a little pricy and i wouldnt buy one until the name is out there... but the outerwear is reasonable and id be willing to give that a shot... i think im going to go create another account over in there forums so i can see how they work...

Hell yea so stoked for Doug and crew! Site looks awesome cant wait to try some of the gear out
Not sure what you mean by a bit pricey, 450-500 is about average for snowboards anymore unless you're buying lamar or previous seasons boards on sale.

I'll check them out. I'm still not a big fan of the name tho. I like that it's a CA company, but have they said where the boards are actually manufactured? I hope it's the U.S., or at the very least NOT China.

Pricey. I'm impressed though that the 157 has the weight range it does. Most boards that size aren't rated for a man of my mass.

yup, at playmaker. they're one of the main asian factories and a solid one at that. they make the non high-end rome boards (probably everything from entry level up to the $450-ish range but i don't know for sure), some or all nitro now (not sure), and others. people need to get over the asia thing. it simply does not boil down to asia = bad. the reason companies use them, or at least one reason, is overall costs. for example, the rome artifact would sure cost more if it were made in europe or the US. they also have a few things they do in-house instead of outsourcing parts, like sidewalls and whatnot. i would rather support board-builders in america or europe, but it's not as if playmaker is some random ass place run by little kids.

^Marhar Snowboards built in Grand Rapids, MI.
Not that I'm opposed to a global market (I love German and Japanese cars) as long as the quality is there.

Who really cares where the board is made. The company has to stand behind there product no matter what country it is manufactured in. If it is a crappy product it won't matter where it is made. It is not like some chinese factory worker that has never been on the snow is designing the boards and deciding how to make them.

yup. sometimes it feels like people are turned off by asian manufacturing because all they picture is kids in a sweatshop, and are oblivious/ignorant to the reality of it. and it's not as if there was never a crappy product out of the US...

that brings up another point... people tend to be very selective with when they're upset about asia production or not. oh it's a snowboard made of wood and plastic from asia? no thanks! oh it's a multi-thousand dollar computer made of all kind of intricate parts made in asia? sounds good! plus, if people are really upset about where it's made to the point they don't want to buy it, they better get rid of all their clothes and mostly everything they own as well.

Well said, people are just plain ignorant and are nothing but hypocrites. Even if something was made in America, they still wouldn't buy it because the prices would be ridiculously high.

also am diggin the renegade... might buy that over the team gullwing bec i can get it in 157 and still ride it being 6'3 215lbs! i think thats the best part of the board making it so taller guys can go smaller! i also like how they lay out what its meant for and who and what kind of person should ride it right in front of your face...

I know its kinda cheeky, but for internationals i think they may have found their sierra upgrades. $62 to send the renegade to japan is about as good a price as youd hope for :)
Damn... tough choice for me. Ive got just over $600 left in my international account, wont really be able to start topping it back up until around feb next year, and really want switchbacks... :o
