Check this out:  Access to 5 resorts across 4 states, with 8 free days total.  Any beyond that is offered at 50% off.  Jackson Hole, Alta (*skiers only), Aspen-Snowmass, and Squaw/Alpine.

you get two days at each resort, then 50% off tickets.  doesn't seem great unless you'll be traveling to every place, and at that point, you also need to factor in travel costs.  I still think the Epic pass is a better deal.

The Epic pass doesn't cover those resorts so it is a completely different deal. Also the resorts you can go to with this pass blow away just about any Vail resort.

I never said the Epic pass covered these resorts, just that it's a better deal.  with this, you only get two days at each mountain, which are all a flight away from the others, and if you're a snowboarder, you can't even go to Alta.

It's good for someone who plans on doing some traveling and would have bought the lift tickets individually. But it's not a good deal as a season pass

yup, i agree...  it's a good deal if you going to travel to each of these resorts.  but since they all spread out, kinda difficult unless you got a lot of airline points.  my vacay this year and next year seems a bit jammed.  so i'll pass.  but thanks for post!

It is a pretty good deal.

I would like to point out that by buying this pass you are supporting Alta's continued ban of snowboarding at their area.

Yeah, Alta's only worth riding if the lifts aren't running!  And F_U_C_K FIS too!

P.S.  If I'm travelling all the way to JH or Aspen I'm prolly planning riding more than 2 days . . . so where ARE you buying a pass this year Rob?

Possibly Mt. Rose, possibly SquawPine, and then I saw this vid today and thought... hmmm maybe Boreal because of access to Woodward, and the fact that they are open till 9pm...

It is a cool idea but you need a lot of frequent flier miles to make it worth it.

Neat idea, and within doable distances if you've got a lot of free time or air miles. They should be doing this thing for the more tightly packed east coast.

reading about this on other blogs and sites and the general feel is its not a great deal outside of the uber rich who could jetset this package.

I still think the Epic pass is probably the best bet out there if one mountain bores you and you don't mind flying

I don't get why you guys keep comparing this to the Epic pass and saying the Epic pass is a better deal. It is not suppose to be anything like the Epic pass. If you can make it to at least two of the resorts for 4 days then the pass pays for itself. If you live anywhere near these areas you could easily do three of them in a season without spending a ton of money. And if you are "uber rich" I'm sure you could care less about this pass.

How do you compare different season passes in they aren't to the same resorts?

and where exactly in america is close to three of them?  I suppose if you lived in exactly the right spot in the middle of jackson hole, alta (skiers only), and aspen, you'd be 5 hours from each.

As for "If you can make it to at least two of the resorts for 4 days then the pass pays for itself", right, it ONLY pays for itself, and then you need to pay more (albeit 50% off) for tickets.  don't have to do that with a traditional season pass, which is why it's a better deal.

Again this is not the same as an Epic pass so you wouldn't be comparing different season passes. An Epic pass is a season pass, this pass clearly is not. The Epic pass is like a nice buffet that you can eat at as much as you want while this pass is like a fine dining restaurant that you only go to every once in a while. Not the same thing.

If you live in certain parts of Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, or Idaho you are with in a days drive of these at least 3 resorts. For instance I live in Las Vegas and could easily drive to Aspen, Alta, or Squaw in less then a day. The longest drive would be Aspen at around 9 hours.

Also the pass more than pays for itself when you consider 4 days at Aspen and Jackson can cost you around $400 depending on when you go. Plus you get discounted lodging with the pass and discounted tickets.

Fine, Mr. Literal.

This Mountain Collective thingy sucks diseased menstruating skunk ass.

Therefore, I am glad I bought a Epic pass and will not be partaking in any of this alta/squaw jackassery.

I also like blueberries, puppies, and the color orange.

the end.

This was fun.  And I think I said it before but, if you're travelling "all the way" to JH or Aspen -- and if you're not travelling very far then you probably already have a JHMR or Aspen pass -- it would be stupid to ride for only two days.  For real.

if the days were doubled, i think it would be worth it, but those mountains are way too far away from each other to make it plausible.

I was never saying I would go there for just two days. I would use the two free days and then use the 50% off for the other days. Plus I don't remember it saying only one person could use the pass for the 50% off. It says buy unlimited tickets. So if you are going with a group than it is even better. If you purchased this pass and went 5 days to Jackson it is almost the same as just paying for the 5 days at Jackson. Only difference is you still have free days at the other resorts and you get the discounted lodging.

So if you are planning a week to any of these places it is stupid not to buy it.

considering the price of the season passes to JHMR and Aspen, this is a pretty good deal up to a certain amount of days.  If you live in Denver, You are with 8hrs of all of these resorts except Squaw and that's a relatively cheap flight to Reno.

I think it could be beneficial to some, not to others.  For those who will benefit I am sure it's appreciated for those that want to argue, well they will always find something wrong no matter what the case.
