I am taking a trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in February and can only bring one of my boards and I want some opinions on which I should take.
I have a 153 GNU CHB MTX and 147 Sierra Stunt. I rode the GNU the last time I went out to Colorado. The difference between the boards though is that my GNU is much stiffer while the Sierra has good flex. With the champagne powder out in Steamboat I wanted to know if you think the Sierra is a better idea because of the flex and the ability to get the front of my board out of the POW. If you have any help for me please comment. |

I'd go w/ the Gnu. Unless U plan on spending a lot of time in the park (which it sounds like U probably aren't). I would not recommend a soft board (like the Stunt) if U are looking to ride pow, trees or steeper terrain..etc.. on your trip.

Why not take both boards and one set of bindings?

take both, boards stack up nicely in bags, or if you can only take one, take the gnu

I might go with the stunt. I like RC a lot better in powder than camber. There is the size difference but the size difference is what is holding me back. But my vote is both board ha ha

I'd think the Gnu as well. A noodle park board probably won't fare that well in the pow. If you're worried about the front of your board not floating out of the powder, I'd just make sure to set your bindings back a good deal. Have fun in the pow!!

I appreciate all the people who posted. and i never thought to just take the bindings off and bring both boards. That sounds like a real good idea. I just have to check and see if their is a limit on the weight of my bag because that might prevent me from brining both.
Thanks alot everyone |

I would take both boards, though if the option is just one, I would pick the GNU.

Should be the standard 50 pound limit at least I would think, you should be fine taking both. You will hate yourself if you don't have your long board and you get a pow day. Throw a beach towel in between them.

Okay one more question now. Anyone have any packing tips. Last time i went out I packed a bag as well as my snowboard bag. I filled both with clothing and i went with the "roll" technique in terms of folding my clothes. Anyone have any hidden gems that helped them pack better.
