    Posted: Sep/19/2012 at 12:43pm
Hi, I need help deciding which board would be best for me. I am 5'6/5'7 and I'm between 165&170lbs. I'm an intermediate ride who loves to ride all mountain but would like to get more into park and jibbing this season. I want something with a bit of flex to it, but not a noodle. Also, I live in the northeast (new jersey) So I mainly ride nj and ny mountains with at least one or two weekend trips to killington vermont.
Now, I've chosen the brand Bataleon, I definitely want one of their board...the boards I'm drawn between are the Eviltwin, the Fun.kink, and the Whatever. The whatever is hard to find online so I guess really its between the eviltwin and the funkink. Which board do you think will be an all around good board but will not hold me back from learning jibs and other advancments in my riding?
Thanks!

of the two. funkink.
Maybe a previous season twin might also be okay, but it looks like theyve added a bit of stiffness to the 2013 (making it more like the artist edition from 2012).

Kink is more nimble, its softer, its gota  bit of pizzaz to it. ask MikeD if you get the chance about it since he loves his.

Actually ill see if i can find his review on it, hold up...

There you go. You can also read a few impressions of bataleon in general on that thread which should help you out a bit.

Truth is though, do remember that the twin is the board that bataleon themselves think everyone should be riding. Its pretty much their flagship do it all board. It used to be closer to a 4-5-4 flex so maybe a previous years might work out.

If you can find it though, i do think the whatever would make the honest best choice of the three if you want to concentrate on park and jibs, but have some fun outside it too. Its pretty much a slightly less tech version of the goliath (extruded base, and bi ax instead of the tri-axial laminates on the goliath (keeping it a little softer)) which is their all mountain all everything board.

Hope that helps.

That was a lot of help, thanks so much! I think the fun.kink is the way I'm going to go...unless I can find the Whatever somewhere online but that's near impossible to find and there are no bataleon dealers near me.

certain <cough> competitors for this site usually have a few. But if you wait a few weeks the house might be getting some in which means TruSnow will also be picking up a few. I cant tell you for sure, but last year there were a few running about. Also a great thread to check out would be the 2012 bataleon thread over at snowboardingforums. If you cant find it here, the dude that looks after that thread is a champ and also happens to be one of the bigger stockers of bataleon product so will likely still have a few whatevers lying about.

Seriously though, i dont think even bataleon know as much about their boards as this cat. :)

ETA: The-house.com have the kink, the twin, and the airobic currently in stock. No sign of the whatever though. This means you might see them over here soon. :)
