We're a ways from it, but I've heard to the north of us has had some.  Not much, but it's showing up early for us.

been snowing above 4k feet for a while and eaglecrest had a dusting a week or so ago that probably went down to 2k feet.  they were reporting big flakes falling at the lodge today as well, which is at 1200ft.  strong snow in the forecast for tomorrow morning as well, and i believe it's supposed to snow at sea level any day now.

took a few shots of some mountains around town over the past two weeks

Red Lodge got nearly 2 feet this last week or so.  That should start a decent base.  The mountain is always better for the year if we get snow in October, even though it doesn't open until Thanksgiving.

Resorts around CO have been blowing snow almost the entire week. We're expected to get 4"+ tonight for almost all the resorts too.

Is it seriously that cold already over there in the west? I don't anticipate any snow production, natural or man-made, for another 2 months here in Toronto.

Even in Denver it has been below 32F already and the mountains have been getting snow and making snow for at least a week now. Pretty normal this time of year.

doubtful, considering those big seasons are usually about 5 years apart.  The fact we had 2 great seasons in a row (09/10 and 10/11) is actually very rare.  I'm all with you on hoping for the best, though.

next week is supposed to be warm again...but I'll be at the beach surfing, so that's good news for me

I think most Lake Tahoe Ski Resorts got at least a couple of inches of snow yesterday night and will probably get some more tonight.
