Which Camera-

Which of the 3 action cams would you buy for $200?
-GoPro HD Hero2
-GoPro HD Hero3 (White edition)
-Contour Roam2

They are all $200, which camera do you choose?

This is my personal situation, but I think its interesting that these 3 are all at the same price point and I think many people would like to debate which of these 3 are the best.

are you assuming that the White Edition 3 is better than the Hero 2? this is what I am asking. I dont understand all the specs, and Im asking which of the 3 is the best cam

def dont go with the Contour Roam2. gopro's where its at. 

spec for spec, the contour is the worst out of those three. I'd take the gopro hero 3, or the gopro hero 2, in that order. 

I am also a big fan of gopro as I have the HD Hero myself. If you want to use cheaper and easier to find high capacity SD cards, then you'll have to go with the Hero2. If you don't mind MicroSD, then go with the Hero3.

My experience though, you're just going to want the features of the Hero3 black once you have any of the other models. I would shell out the money and go for the top hero3 black model. I doubt you'd regret the decision once you have the camera.

As I mentioned earlier, I have the HD Hero, got it 2 seasons ago and it was the top model at the time, and I have loved it ever since. Thought about selling it for the Hero3 Black but I'll probably end up adding to my collection, rather than upgrading.

Just remember gopro 3 white is the same specs as the gopro 1 but has added wifi. If you're going for performance go for the hero 2 or roam.
Personally I think the roam is better for pov but has less mounts. No fisheye on roam I think, don't quote me and at work so I can't be arsed looking it up.
Personally I think you should save that extra bit and get the hero 3 silver.

get the first gen, I know someone selling one (me) j/k but seriously get the newest one 1080p 120 fps is going to be sick..

I think everyone forgets that 1080p alone chews at your memory space... 120 fps would mow a 16 or even a 32gig up pretty quick.

The Goporo HD 3 is a pretty good cam for $200. I would go with that if it was up to me.

What are you using these cameras for? biking, surfing, snowboarding, etc. I have the Contour Roam and i've probably dropped it enough to see scratches everywhere (still works) and i got it for $90. I use mine for snowboarding, mounting it outside of a car on race track (fell of a few times, home made mount), mount on my dog to run around with.. the works..haha. I dont have a go pro so i cant say much about that. just my .02 cents.
