Also is there good protection from tail bone injuries.  I seen some padded pants, might just strap a pillow to her but...think shed mineÉ

Is a lot easier for both of u if ur gf takes a lesson.
If ur lucky, Ross or Marshall have Nike combat football tights that have tailbone and hip protection pads for half da price.
Can't go wrong with da Sierra set up for her.

what ldid was give my girl the basic of how to break and how boarding works, made her life easier with the lessons if you ask me. They dont care if all she does is sit there all day so..

Most resorts do a 2 hour to half day lesson... I took one at bromley that was a two day lesson for 80 bucks. Most come with a free lift ticket for the day as well... Good luck women are stubborn... I hope you can get her to learn... I cant even get my girl on the mountain...

My fiance wears a pro-tec butt pad. It's like tights but with enough padding on the side hip, butt, and especially on the tail bone location. I got it from sports chalet. Maybe sports authority might have it too.

There are many Roxy, Head, Rossignol, Ride, Flow, Capita, and Rome boards that are cheaper than the V-Spot. And look better. In my opinion anyway. Depends on what your girlfriend likes.

I'd be super psyched if I got this Roxy Ollie Pop BTX as a beginner board for Christmas.

Other possible options include: Capita Saturnia, DC Biddy, Ride Rapture, or Flow Venus.

I don't know if the recommendations above are in your girlfriend's size, but if they are, they'd be very nice choices.


As for lessons. I took a week-long course. We had classes every morning for a couple of hours. It was well worth it. It helps having someone you don't know teach you. Less arguing. Plus you get to have a little bit of time to yourself where you get to ride full on, then you won't be unhappy when you have to hit the bunny slopes with your girlfriend afterward.

more or lessl have to agree with that comment haha.

lol its so true the better they look the more they want to do it.   She is 5'6" and weighs about 125, she is a personal trainer and is ridiculously fit.  we are going to be riding mostly groomed and maybe getting into some pow I was looking at a 146-149 board, but I have seen some suggestions on going 152. would that be too large for her to learn on?

I'm bout her size n 147 is a great all round size for me. 142 might be a bit too small for her. She can ride a 142 but 147 will be more stable as she picks up speed n def. way better in pow. N u said she pretty fit so a 147 will be a better option because she's probably stronger than an avg. girl. Sh*t she might be in better shape than my lazy a...
