Hey guys, I'm interested in buying a board I found, but wanted some info or any reviews from those of you who have experience with a brand called Promotional snowboards. Would really appreciate any insight!

Here is the website...

I've never heard of them and I've browsed the website and found that you need a minimum order of 20 boards. You gonna buy at least that many? Also, they're not specific on the technology that's put into the board, just the basics.

I think they're meant more for corporations running "promotional" events... their company/website names make sense now. Wink

But if you could get 20 buddies to do a group buy with you, that's pretty sick how you could have your own custom graphics.  I can just imagine 20 of your closest shred buddies each having a section to sign/draw their own peace of artwork... that'd be sweet!

I'd definitely message them first to find out more about the board specs/shape/lengths etc.

Nope, I actually bought one of their boards off Craigslist for my brother. Brand new in the wrapping for $70 bucks. It looks like its well built, traditional camber with a sintered base and some unique Odwalla graphics. Owner said he won it at a local sports bar/grill and had no use for it.

For the price i'm satisfied and it's not likely that anyone else on the mountain will be rocking the same graphic. That would be cool of you got enough folks to make a group order though....I'm curious of they do other types of camber boards though. Maybe I will call them up just for the information.

I would get all the specifics on the board. It doesn't matter how cheap it is, if the quality is crap, you're gonna hate and not even use the board. Getting 20 friends with all custom graphics would be pretty awesome though. If you end up doing this, you definitely should keep us updated on how it goes

Definitely a custom board company, not a traditional board brand...
They dont specify whether you can choose the flex or not and the sizes the boards can be made in. I think thats quite unprofessional, and seeing that they also make surf, wake and skateboards as well makes me think that they are not originally professional snowboard producers so personally I would have some serious doubts about the quality.

Ive had a bit of experience with a couple custom snowboard companies who make boards to order (targeted at single clients, not bulk orders) and their boards are handmade with top quality materials.

But from what I can see on this website, looks like theyre just some regular bulk-snowboard company that dont have much interest in using top quality materials or informing their potential clients...
Best to try sending them an email if youre really keen I think

^ LaNieve, can you post links to those high quality custom snowboard producers?  I am interested to see what they have to offer.  Thanks in advance!

Hi sure but one is New Zealand based while the other one is South Korea based
Heres the NZ company
http://www.candleman.co.nz/

And the Korean company
http://www.bigboycustom.com

The korean one has pages dedicated to telling you what kind of materials are used and where they are from. They use bamboo for the core and sidewalls, some quality materials from the US like the topsheet, insert and fiberglass, edges from Austria etc
Although all their sites in Korean, if youre really keen on some more info I guess you could try emailing the boss (who learnt to make boards in the US) he must be able to speak some English..

The NZ one does tell you some about the material etc but not in detail, however I sent an email asking what my candleman custom board was made of last year and got a massive list of crazy top quality materials that I wasnt expecting like quadraxial fiberglass, kevlar tuning etc and that all these performance materials are made in Europe.
Always good to know youve got a quality board without any cheap chinese materials...

Hope this helped!
