Sorry Ive got no answers but a few questions..
What kind of paint did you use and what did you do to make sure the paint didnt come off in the cold or when it comes in contact with moisture?

Nope never painted my snowboard. If it doesn't look good or got lots of scratches I would put stickers on it.

I don't know if it's a good idea to sand your base. I would try to scrape the paint off instead. When you use the scraper to scrape the paint, pull the scraper towards you Wink. That's my only thought on that and why did you paint the base? You crazy mang! good luck!

I have done Artwork for several boards and the best way I have found is to sand the top sheet enough that you have pours for the paint to fill. Lightly coat it with an acrylic outdoor spray paint in about 10-12 layers. you want to be sure that the coatings are light enough that you are not making any puddles on the board with the paint and the paint coats the surface evenly. Another key to the many layers is that you never want one layer to be 100% dry before doing the next coat. That way all of the layers will bond together and reduce flaking and cracking. After that If you're a good aerosol artist feel free to bomb it up or grab your KRINKS and got to town (one of my fav's); The best results I have ever had with doing custom work on rideable boards is silk screening the deigns on and covering with a gloss or non-gloss aerosol finish. Just know that Warranty is void after any alterations like this and that the artwork will crack, get scratched and never look as good as when it's first finished due to the nature of the beast.

Hope this helps-

Out of curiosity why did you paint the base?  At any point did it seem like a bad idea?
