^yep.  Boston is doing everything right.  Consistently.  I can't believe how hard it seems for the Blackhawks, seemingly the best team all year, to get a win.   Thinking how hard they had to work to get game 1.  It could be 3-0 right now.

Losing Hossa hurt the Blackhawks, a lot. I'm glad.

Wow what a game! Hawks were flying and the Bruins still managed to tie things up and force OT. Looks like Boston found Crawford's weakness... high glove. No doubt its going to 7 games.

What. A. Blinder. Couldn't have asked for a better offensive response from the Hawks. I actually though they might have shot themselves in the foot with their D performance but man am I stoked when Seabrook sniped in with the winner. I'm glad justice was served.. I would have been so gutted if Boston had taken that game.

That was a helluva game, talk about an offensive explosion.

As Von mentioned Crawford seems to have trouble glove-side.  I'm sure a lot has to do with the traffic Boston is putting in front of him but he should have had a clear line of sight on a couple of those.

My fearless bold prediction for Saturday's game:

Hawks  2
Bruins 0

On another hockey note Paulina Gretzky is facking hot.

Lucky for Dustin Johnson!

Hawks def have some serious momentum going into game 5 with home ice advantage. Should be a fun series to the end.

I think that Chicago has better offensive talent with the likes of Kane, Toews, and Hossa. Not saying that Boston doesn't have strong offensive players as well I just feel that Chicago has stronger offensive players than Boston. What Boston has going for them though is their depth. They can look to players on all four lines to score goals. Paille has been playing incredible and then you have guys like Lucic and Marchand who can play a grinder role but still contribute offensively on a regular basis. Not really sure who I think has the advantage in this series. I think it will come down to goal tending and if that's the case then I think Boston will come out on top.

Over/under on scoring total for game 4 was 4.5.  Both teams cracked that.  Wow.

Yeah this sc finals is prolly the closest I've ever seen between two evenly matched teams. Still hoping hawks come out on top tho.

^Agreed. I just can't stand Boston just because they're really hated in Buffalo. But as much as I hate them I have so much respect for that team and their depth.

Really happy with the Hawks performance tonight, you couldn't really fault them. I don't know if the Bruins had a bit of an off night but losing Bergeron will be a massive blow if he doesn't recover in time for the game in Boston. I heard he got taken away in an ambulance? I LOVED seeing Lucic smash his stick after the empty netter! Bit of a rough call not getting that tripping penalty before the goal but stoked for the Blackhawks. The momentum is all theirs now!

Missed the game last night but I heard that Patty Kane had another stellar performance. That kid's really starting to turn into a star in the league and is showing a lot of consistency.

One more game to go for the hawks! Might be without Toews tho. Sounds like an upper body injury. You can tell they lost a lot of momentum in the third when he sat out.

He's a great leader on that team, it will definitely be tough without him but I think that they have enough depth and leadership on that squad to pull through with the win.

I dunno, Toews is going to be a massive loss. But it will be offset if Bergeron is out as well. Both are huge players. Should be interesting to see the reports in the morning.

There's a chance Bergeron and Toews may not play in Game 6, a huge blow to both teams.

Sportsnet is reporting Bergeron has a spleen issue.

Coach Q says Toews has an upper-body injury.

My fearless and inaccurate prediction for tonight:

Boston  4
Chicago 2

Let's take this series to a Game 7!!!

This has been a great series that should be decided in a Game 7. Hope the Bruins get back to hard defense tonight and take it.

Reports say that both Bergeron and Toews will play tonight. Could very well be the last game of the year unless Boston shows up. I'd expect them to suit up regardless if they were injured. They can both suck it up and play, that's why they get paid the big money.

I'm hoping this will go to a game 7!
This series has been pretty intense.
My prediction is it goes to OT with the Bruins winning it 3-2.

I'm expecting a hell of a game

Incredible finish...what a move by Kane to start that tying goal...

Well the Kings lost to the best team in the end.

That was a great series, the best in years. A tough loss for the Bruins. Crawford was spectacular but Rask was off and let in a couple of soft goals (particularly the first by the Hawks). Bruins defense faltered and was unstoppable like they were against the Penguins.

That was a horrible way for the Bruins to lose. Up by a goal with a minute and half left and still lose in regulation. Then watch the Blackhawks celebrate on their ice Ouch.

The city went crazy last night here in Chicago. Hawks came in at 4 am and went straight to the bars. Lord Stanley was in full party mode last night!

That was a helluva series, one of the best in past 10 years or so.  Crazy the way Chicago scored to tie and win the game.  Two Cups in 4 years, congrats Chicago.

While being interviewed Toews told the Chicago bartenders to keep the bars open, the boys were coming home to celebrate.  Sounds like old-time hockey to me.

Bruins pulled a Toronto!! Up a goal with 3:39 left in the game and the hawks net 2 goals in 17 seconds to win it. Congrats to the hawks! Too bad for the bruins. What can you say but karma's a bitch.

Several years ago I went to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.  My first impression: "damn, it's in the basement of an office building?", hockey gets no respect.  The trophy room is impressive, all of the trophies (Stanley Cup, Campbell Bowl, Prince of Wales, Hart, Vezina, etc.) are on display.  They let you take photos standing near the Cup but strongly discourage yuo from touching it.

I'm so happy I got up at the crack of dawn to watch the game. What a game and what a series. So happy to see Chicago team win it and glad Kane won the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Canucks finally appointed Torts last night. Pretty happy with that to be honest. I think he's going to bring a whole new dimension to the team. A bit of passion which Vigneault severely lacked in his reign..

Should be fun watching him answer questions about Schneider and Luongo. I give him a month into the season before he loses it.

Maybe they want hockey to survive the apocolypse? Lock it down in a basement and it'll be safe from world nuclear destruction.

Haha yeah it will be very interesting to see how he goes with the Van media and if it will become a complete circus. I've watched both the Q&A and the press conference and it seems he genuinely wants to turn over a leaf and be better when he deals with the media.

What's the over/under on how many days before Torts explodes in a news conference?

Anyone else find it ironic that Vancouver hired former NY coach Tortorella and NY hired former Vancouver coach Vigneault?

Oh definitely, but I had a feeling they might go for Torts as soon as he got fired from NYR. I think NYR wanted to move away from the rage kinda coach and AV suits that.. he's so calm and never gets angry. But I think that stuff doesn't work, it stops motivating players when you don't have someone constantly demanding all the players to do better. I think both franchises have made good decisions in hiring funnily enough.

I also find it ironic that Vancouver hired Torts after Bieska was quoted as saying:

“I don’t think we need somebody to come in and crack the whip,” defenceman Kevin Bieksa said Thursday.

“We can work together toward a common goal. I still believe in this team and that the core can win and that we’re young enough to win. We’re more mature and even-keeled, and maybe (coach’s rants) is appropriate on rare occasions, but every coach has his own strategy and opinions on how they should act."

So, is the Vancouver brass showing Bieska who's in charge by hiring Tortellini?

Do you think the management and owners care about what a player thinks is best for the organisation? Don't think it's them trying to show the players who's boss. Torts isn't necessarily going to come in and crack the whip, it just may be a byproduct of some performances that require that kind of coaching.. I think he will be a little different this time but I guess it's a matter of wait and see until the first puck drops in October. Seems most of the players are pretty excited to have him there.
