This guy just went from a top 15 pick, to being lucky to be drafted in the 1st round. I wouldn't mind the eagles taking him in the 2nd or 3rd round if he falls.

I don't know where you get this. Only his potential as a player and leader is going to affect his draft status. Maybe his tackling against Alabama will hurt him, but this story will barely touch his draft status.

I think you're underestimating this situation, GM's aren't going to want to draft a guy where constant media coverage is going to be on him. A similar situation was Vontaze Burfict last year. Projected top 10 pick. Look how much he dropped, he wasn't even drafted. I'm not saying he doesn't have skill but the girlfriend thing and his performance in the championship game aren't doing him any favors. |

I don't know. I think that GMs want to fill the seats and increase media dollars, and I don't think the girlfriend thing hurts. It doesn't help too much because he isn't particularly relateable or sympathetic anymore, but I just don't see him going to far. Teams always have room to strengthen their linebacker core. He never was the top linebacker, but he has gotten more attention for his football play linebackers 5-10 on the list. I think he'll wind up probably in the same place he would have otherwise.

So now it is being reported that the fake 'girlfriend' that he spoke to on the phone was actually a man. Supposedly the guy who was perpetrating the 'hoax'. Ok, really... is this Te'o guy this stupid? After allegedly talking to someone for hours you can't tell that it's a dude & not a women? There is plenty more to be revealed about to ridiculous story. |

there are plenty of people who imitate women online and over the phone. i dont really care to defend him that much but there are a lot of dumb football players. i would say he is less of a risk than dez brant or pacman jones or T.O. have been in the past. he will be fine in the draft and if he isnt everyone will forget he existed soon enough.

But the story was that he met her at a stanford game. the guy didn't dress up to look like a girl he knew in high school, i'm sure.
also, mental stability plays a huge role in draftability. doing off the wall shit like this does not raise your draft stock.

After all this he is going to wind up dropping in the draft. Before this, if he had a bad combine it would not have mattered. But now that he has "off the field problems" haha if you can call them that he is going to be punished when he runs a slow 40 and doesn't get the reps that the top players do.
Really sucks for this guy. He seems like a good dude who just got dooped and is going to pay a big price for it. A BIG PRICE $$$$$$$$$$$! |
