Cascade has some new people in charge this year, for building the park. They partnered up with velocity, I think it is.

Yeah I get they need to make money, but $81 plus tax is out of line. They would have more business if they kept rates down. It has gone up 10$ in 2 years and their parks have gotten worse. It is not as fun as it used to be. I prefer Devil's Head in Wisconsin. How are Cascade's parks? I thought about checking it out this year.

Granite needs high price tickets to keep making payments on all those improvements, but they may have over extended themselves. Unless you have a season pass it is hard to justify $80 for a lift ticket if you aren't at a big resort out west.

Granite Peak used to be my home resort, but seriously the lift ticket prices there are straight rape. Honestly, the speed lift is nice, but the parks are no where near as fun as they used to be when they were on the other side of the mountain. The jumps the last 3 seasons seemed a bit off--like the knuckle was always janky or just didn't seem proportionate.  I'm glad to be rid of that resort. I only go occasionally when visiting home and only on the cheap Wed/Sat nights. No way am I paying $80 for a ticket for that.

I really like Devil's Head which is close to Cascade. It's boarder friendly for sure and the park is better than Granite, even though it's smaller. Although to be fair, Granite seems to have a lot of rails. I don't recall a ton of rails at Devil's.

Just went tonight. Conditions were some of the best I've seen there (other than a fresh pow day). If it wasn't 0 degrees out I would have said it was perfect!

On Cascade's website they are saying they will be able to open Nov 29 based on the weather forecast.

I haven't heard much, but I know Granite Peak opened last weekend for a couple of days. Looking at the weather I would guess Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything about Cascade...It's my favorite place to ride within 2 hours of Chicago. Anybody know of any plans to open any time soon. temps should be cold enough for snow making temps.

Didn't see a thread for Cascade so thought I would make one. Went yesterday, took some students from the school ski/snowboard club up and it was a nice time...it was a little chilly but sunny all day. Every run was open and in pretty good shape until 2pm or so when it became super icy...park had some nice features and there were some hidden pow stashes to be found and shredded...kids had fun and it was an overall nice day.
