New Board - Flying V

Hey everyone,
I'm looking into getting a new board, so I just went to a Burton demo at a hill and got to try out a few boards.

I currently ride a Gnu Carbon Credit with K2 Hurrithane bindings, and its not really working for me.

I'm an intermediate all-mountain rider, and I like to get ALOT of speed.

I got to try out the Easy Living, and the regular Custom Flying V boards, and I'm between the two of those.

I also need new bindings and boots, and I have no idea where to start on those. Any help would be appreciated :D.

I have the Flying V with Cartel EST bindings. I love the set up.

I got the Custom Flying V with Mission Cant' EST bindings and Moto boots. I can go pretty quick on groomed runs but when you get to the choppy area you'd be slow down cause the board is a bit soft. I've caught a edge once but most of the other times the board helped me stay up. This setup was my all mountain setup as it's really versitile. I dont do crazy jumps/tricks but it's great for exploring, powder, grooms, and messing around.

I don't have any idea about the Easy Living though so I cant compare them for you. I'd say get the stiffer of the two and cheaper of the two. lol..money talks

if you want speed then stay away from the flying v because it can't handle speed that great unless its perfectly groomed. if you want a burton board then get yourself a custom x...the thing is bomb proof. if you are looking at other companies then i recommend the Capita BSOD or TFA...both awesome stiffer decks that can just fly but are also very versatile. the Yes Pick Your Line is also a gun and super stable at high speeds. there are plenty other board but these are some of my favorites.

as for bindings, go with the cartels...they are the perfect binding.

im going to echo what Lux said. If you "like to get ALOT of speed", you'll enjoy a moderately stiff to stiff traditional camber board. The burton custom is tried and true. Nitro Team and Sierra Bluebird are solid candidates as well. 

I've gone around 50 mph, AlpineRelay app, on the slopes with the Flying V Custom and it handled beautifully. No issue with this hybrid rocker not being able to handle high speeds.

Unless he has legs like a Rolls-Royce suspension that makes choppy snow feels like butter I don't see how it'll work. Either I get shot into the air or catch an edge trying to save myself from loosing it.

Why even ask then if everything is on a person by person basis. Yes, everything is by preference and everyone has there own skill level...but, in general, which is what I think everyone who is asking questions on this forum is looking for, Flying V is not the greatest for bombing runs of all kinds of varying conditions.

lets be realistic here.  any experienced rider is able to charge hard & ride fast on a custom FV if thats what they choose to do.  it works very well. when was the last time you blasted through chop at 50 mph on any snowboard?
