Exactly, right now he is in there because he was denied bail, not because he is guilty in the eyes of the law.  After the trial and if he is found guilty, into gen pop he goes.

Just a week and training camps start, and a little bit over 2 weeks is the first preseason game. Love me some football.

Seahawks fans are the absolute worst.

All I hear about is how awesome and great Russell Wilson is, how many Super Bowls Seattle will win in the next few years, how they crowned themselves an "offseason championship", and 42-13!!

Is it just me as a Niner fan, or are other teams' fans noticing this annoying trend as well?

I've noticed that happening a lot with Seattle AND SF fans.  They are still nowhere near as annoying as Dallas/Pits/NE fans however.

I worry about the Niners secondary. after all, they have a rookie to start at safety.
is it just me? or is common sense not that common.

I see some things that Niner fans post on social media sites and it makes me facepalm. So classless, but I guess that holds true for every franchise as well..

Assuming that Reid even starts, I wouldn't be too worried. He will obviously have a learning curve as a rookie, but he isn't going to be tasked to do TOO much considering he is on one of the best defensive units in the league. It'd be a different situation if he was a starting rookie on say Jacksonville's defense. Whitner, Willis, Bowman, and the rest of the guys will definitely help alleviate some of the rookie kinks I'm sure he will have.

But he seems like an extremely smart player with a good head on his shoulders. I'm sure he will pick it up fairly quick.

The secondary was exposed last year due to a lack of a solid pass rush, but he added Asomugha and got some good depth on the line, so hopefully that negates that aspect. We were one of the better pass defense teams in the league until the end of the season/playoffs.

I remember the last two years where all the hype preseason was how good Philly looked approaching the season.  Let's hope Seattle and SF don't end up looking like the eagles.

San Francisco has already proved that they can compete at a high level after sneaking up on people in 2011.

It's Seattle's turn now. I hope they crash and burn.

SF was a touchdown short of winning the super bowl, so the hype is real and deserved (losing Crabtree not withstanding).  Difference with the Eagles (and I know because they are my team and it was embarrassing to watch), was a lot of a talk and bluster without having accomplished anything.  Seattle, at least, had a great chance to be in the NFC Championship if the defense had not come up small against Atlanta.

Yes, that certainly was a lot of talk and bluster:

But now knowing you are an Eagles fan...do you think Chip Kelly is going to work out?

^ Eagles football and it's crazy fans play a large role in the movie Silver Linings Playbook (my girlfriend like Bradley Cooper, matter of fact she called me "Bradley" later that evening...).  Are Eagles fans really that delusional?

Oddsmakers are giving SF 6/1 odds to make it to the Super Bowl, Denver is getting 7/1.  Philly is at 55/1...

Philly fans are shtooking crazy. Not just Eagles fans. I love the stand up that Bill Burr does where he just roasts the Philly crowd he is performing in front of. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it...unless you don't like vulgar humor.

Just to make the superbowl?  That's a pretty good payout for each of those teams.  When I was in Vegas last, it was 3 and 4 to 1.

49ers trade a conditional 2014 draft pick for Bucs CB Eric Wright.

Good depth trade IMO, even though he has off/on field issues.

I always liked E Wright in cleveland, but he had trouble putting it together.  Ton of talent.  Played probably his best game as a pro and a play I'll never forget because of his Prime mugging after the score (we don't get many in cleveland) when he picked off Eli in a prime-time game.

I think he will be real good in SF

^ Going back a few posts:  Yes.  Eagles fans are crazy.  We know the game, we care a LOT, we know the ins and out of the team, the playbook, the tendencies (much like any fan).  I have seen some absolutely ridiculous (stuff) at the stadium -- mostly at the Vet, but the Linc can get rowdy.

As to the "Dream Team" and "dynasty" talk -- we were all very excited about signing Asougmha, Jenkins, Steve Smith, VYoung, etc., but when Young said that, we just put our head in our hands and said, "Will this guy please shut up?"  We knew they hadn't won anything yet.

On a side note: More than one out of every four Super Bowls is won by a team from the NFC East (Dallas - 5; NYG - 4; Wash - 3) and the Eagles have ZERO.  If that doesn't give us an inferior complex, I am not sure what would.

I'd say the hype for SF is well and truly deserved, but the hype surrounding the Seahawks is a little over the top.

To assume Wilson will progress a great deal is a big call considering the numbers and play he put up last season. Down the stretch he was nearly perfect so to assume he's going to be even better is a stretch in myopinion

There were 3 rookie QBs and another (Kaepernick was basically a rookie) that played huge roles in their teams' success last year.  It's a fun exercise for the writers to see who continues to improve.  I don't think Wilson is a fluke by any means, so if he is even close to where he was last year, the Seahawks should be in a good position (especially with the addition of Harvin).

I think SEA has one of the best chances of NOT being able to repeat their success last season.  Wilson was a great game manager, but his stats don't scream to me he was the reason they were winning.

Seattle isn't going to do well. I don't think they were even that good last year. They barely made it into the playoffs and who knows, maybe they wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for the worst call ever

Agreed. They're going to have to prove that they can sustain last season's success. Just like the Niners from 2011, they're coming into the season with targets on their back. I guarantee you every team on their schedule has that game circled on their calendar.

Additionally, they were the 3rd seed in the NFC West last year, so they faced some weaker teams. This upcoming year, they will be the 2nd seed, so they're going to be facing tougher opponents. They also have five 10 AM road games, which they historically don't do well at. And finally, just like teams will do with Kaepernick, teams are going to game plan against Wilson a lot more, so I expect a drop off with his play just due to the fact that I don't think he can consistently compete at a high level like he did at the end of last year.

All this talk about them winning numerous Super Bowls, and being crowned off season champs is laughable. I think they'll win 8-9 games this year, with 10 being the top level.

After looking at the schedule, I think they should be able to get 8 pretty easily.  The question is whether they'll play up against better teams, but I think the 9-10 win range is about right, and if they get any more, then the hype is worth it.  It think their preseason against Denver will be the real indicator.  If they can play well against them, then they are looking good going into the season.  I have a feeling Denver will be too much for them from the get-go.

Meh, pre season doesn't mean anything. Sure, the teams will play hard, but the starters will be out after the 2nd quarter, and the coordinators aren't going to be tipping their hat with full game planned offensive and defensive schemes.

So apparently Eric Wright failed his physical, and the 49ers-Bucs trade is off.

Sucks to be you, Wright.

I stopped listening to press conferences. majority of whats said is bs. from singletary's, "I gotta look at the film" to harbaugh not admitting interest in Peyton manning, etc, etc. if anything interesting happens,it'll be on YouTube.

Advanced stats put most people to sleep, I understand this.  But Seattle
went 11-5 last year with a plus-167 point differential (3rd in the league).  They also had the fourth-toughest schedule (based on advanced stats sites like Football Outsiders).  The Seahawks did not trail in a game by more than seven points since Week 6 and were only down by more than one score for a total of 28 minutes and 42 seconds all season.
Only two other 11-5 teams since the strike season of 1982 managed a better point differential across 16 games, and there were arguments that they were one of the strongest 11-5 teams in 30 years.

Now they just have to go out and do it again.

hard to say they are annoying when they are the loudest fans in the NFL and create one of the hardest environments to play in.  They are passionate and yes fanatic but that is far better than the opposite.  I am a ram fan so look what happened to them...they moved  to St. Louis because their fans were apathetic.

Is it just me as a Niner fan, or are other teams' fans noticing this annoying trend as well?

hard to say they are annoying when they are the loudest fans in the NFL and create one of the hardest environments to play in.  They are passionate and yes fanatic but that is far better than the opposite.  I am a ram fan so look what happened to them...they moved  to St. Louis because their fans were apathetic.

They are annoying. Go on www.seahawks.net or any social media site. Huge bandwagon homers, already crowning themselves Super Bowl champions lol

I seriously cannot wait to see how many bandwagon Patriots fans jump ship once Brady leaves and they start sucking again!

FWIW, the Niners have a ton of bandwagoners too. The Bay Area is notorious for them.

That's one thing I will give Broncos fans, there are very few bandwagoners.  People in Colorado bleed Orange and Blue.

For good reason, ha.

Good article on Kaepernick, even though I don't like Peter King.

Cmon Jaws...Flacco #4 best QB? His QBR was 25th in the league last year..you can't put him at 4 just because he was hot in the playoffs.
